Throttle block question

I have an 09 dragon and i am tired of accidentally hitting the kill switch. I was originally going to buy RSI's different throttle block with the separate kill switch. Now they dont offer that model anymore and have a kill switch and throttle block in one for like $90! What I am thinking of doing now is putting in plain throttle block and getting rid of the handle bar kill switch all together and just using my tether.

My question is where is the best place to get a plain throttle block to work on my pro taper bars? Also what is the best way to remove the kill switch?

Any help or suggestions would be great

DD, I looked at what FTX offered and it was the same as what RSI went to with the kill switch still on the block but just facing forward instead of up. I would like to eliminate the kill switch on the bars altogther.

Cat, I wanted to do that package from RSI also when they offered just a throttle block and seperate kill switch, but now when I go to there website all they have is the "new" design that turns the kill switch forward instead of up? Unless Im just not seeing it?

You don't HAVE to put/use the kill switch on the FTX throttle block. that is what I did. Just left it off.

I did not know you could not use the kill switch on the FTX block. I thought it came as one unit. Thanks 4Z

have you tried the rubber band trick on the kill switch so you need to push and hold down for it to kill?

Heavy rubber band, double and triple wrapped around the kill switch as needed. Did this for my wife's sled and fixed this problem for her, now kill switch has a lot of resistance but still works when you deliberately press on it. Haven't done this to my Dragon, but should... have hit that switch a couple awkward times... just not enough to make me do that yet... :face-icon-small-con

King,
Our old throttle block was is a Powermadd one. They still offer it. If you want we could make a spacer to replace the kil switch for our new throttle block. Our new throttle bock uses the throttle lever pivot pin safety switch too.
Thank you,
Rsi

Thanks everyone for the info!

RSI, do you still offer the Powermadd Throttle block?

King,

Sorry we are out of those and not offering them anymore. Any dealer can still get them from Powermadd.
Thank you,
RSI

Another question along these same lines. You people that removed your kill switch, what did you have to do to do this? I've heard with the CFI motors that its not just as easy as unplugging the switch? That you might have put in a resistor or jumper? Anyone have experience with this?

Also when changing out the throttle block, does it mess up the TPS?

Thanks,

sledking

I have the old style RSI throttle block on my 09 rmk 600 but Never could figure out how to wire the seperate motto style kill switch it came with.

RSI can you clear this up?

thank you
