Thoughts on gearing down....needed?

As far rippin around the mountains goes don't you want to be pulling hills at 2:1 shift ratio, this is about 43 MPH trackspeed at 2.2:1 gear ratio. At 2:1 you become 92% efficient which is about as good as centrifugal clutching will get you, save the remainder for a good fast trail ride roughly 82 MPH. I'm not sure there is much to gain by going lower than 2.2:1 other than slightly lower belt temps as you approach 1:1. Belt temps haven't been an issue on my 14, excellent belt life with stock gearing.

I rode with and rode a few sleds with his kit last year. As good or better than any pipe kit or drop in kit available IMO. My Rkt DI is getting paired with one this year. The clutch belt life is worth it alone to me.

The helix is a custom cut and the spring is a repainted team or Polaris spring. I don't know and don't ask me which one. lol

Is the helix really custom cut? or is an off the shelf team? would team custom cut a small run of helixes for one customer? don’t know

that makes sense on the spring. i cannot find a white/purple secondary spring from any of the spring manufactures...

I just want to make sure I make best choice. I don’t want to make a $800 mistake

With my 3 previous sleds, I dropped one tooth on the top sprocket and liked the results. in most cases would that have been like going from 2.1 to 2.2 or 2.3? All were RMK or Summits. 20 to 19 or 19 to 18T if I remember right. It was so easy with a chaincase...

Yes. 19/40 is 2.22 ratio. I kind of hate my quick drive.... Well my pro in general.

Wished they offered the 163 standard pro with clickers, cooler, and chain case last year. My pros a dual purpose home sled and mountain sled. Need it to rip lakes and feilds and keep up in the mountains with the other 163s.

My pro is dual purpose aswell. Sure wish I had that extra cooler sometimes, I do have a chain case though and raptor clickers now :)

Gear down

We started with one gear down kit on one of our Turbo Pro's last year, We ride mostly tight trees. It seemed to pull better than any of the other Boondocker equipped sleds in our group. It seemed like it got the power to the ground quicker. This year there are about 9 of us using them, so we were obviously sold on them. It may be different if we were pulling big chutes, but that's not what we typically do.
