This is how I High-mark.. GET SUM!.

What Bowl??
ya, i dropped into the bowl, and was going to powder turn out the other side fell off and the sled went down the fall line and funneled it to the chute, snow was good that day, and i was feeling stupid.

I wish I would have had a picture of it.. it hit a little booter launched into the air and vanished off the first cliff lol.....

Thanks brahm for sharing your humbling experience. There are many times we find ourselves in humbling situations of unfortunate circumstance. BB

What winch maker and how many feet of line?

I've been thinking of putting together a rescue rig to retrieve broken sleds and a gas powered winch on a sled with ski's we could load a broken machine onto might he the answer.

Every time you get to a point you can't pull the broken sled over just spool out the line and the pull up the next section.

Last year we dang near killed a couple of guys with exhaustion when they tried to pull a sled out on a powder day.. ever time the broke sled hit a rut on the hills climbing out it rolled onto it's side, too steep to have a rider on the broke sled. So finding a way to reduce drag and at the same time create stability and reduce effort is looking pretty good to me.

Sled looked to be in decent shape for that kind of decent.. Musta been lucky enough to miss alot of trees on way down. What finally stopped it?

Ya it just followed the fall line down the chute. I think it just fell off the last cliff and wedged it's self in the powder we had to lift it out to put it on a ridge and out of the avy path until I could get back to it.

I'm not really sure. It wasn't my equipment. I'm guessing about 1000'. I was thinking about getting a smaller wench I could mount on a sled in the future but haven't put much time into research.. been spending my time trying to get the local shop to get my insurance the quote they need so i can buy my sled back!

What are you talkin about? thought skidoo's wernt durable??? your on crack if you think not bud....
I like crack!!!!! Bioches!!!!!!!!!! (Dave Chapelle)

If you read his post you'll find out it didn't exactly go unscaved..... (sp?) Haven't seen too many durable ones around here, still doesn't mean I don't like em. So quit your cryassing!
Besides don't think any sled would have handled that very well anyway.
