Thinking of getting 09 F250 Diesel

Durramax buddie cant beat the comfort, power, and nothing like the allison transmision. I have an 06 duramax and I pull around a 15,000 pound fifth wheel all the time long distance with ease and if you put a chip on it you can get around 22 mpg. I race my truck against fords and dodges with nhrda and the chevys dominate.

Having owned both, I like the comfort of the Ford better, fits us tall guys, and the power of the Ford is as good as my Duramax stock, and better tuned. The Torque shift is a better transmission than the Allison stock. The only thing the Chev has going for it now, is the car like ride......The Ford is even quieter in the cab.

I rode in an 09 superduty the other day and man r they noisy in the cab compared to the dodge or chev. My neighbor rides in one to work eveyday and says he would never buy one they rattle and bang down bush rodes like there an old crummy. Now you buy one of the twin trubos and they dicontinue them in 2011, Ya ford sure has ther ducks in a row, The only reason they didnt need a buy out was because they secured funding before the crisis not because there doing better than everbody else. Go chevy Just kidding Thought id give some of the negatives that ive found about the new fords. Instead of all the blue oval lovers telling you the positives.

My 2 cents take it or leave it cheers:beer;

Um, ok...

Here's my advice.........

First, go drive all 3 trucks, but find the base work truck, "plain jane" models with little to no comforts. Even drive the gassers if you cannot find a diesel. This will show you the fit and finish, quality of materials, attention to detail each company has to their truck. It will "uncover" how the company hides what is under all of the leather, electric options, fancy stereos, and creature comforts.

Once you've done this go find the comparable upgraded models with bells and whistles. One thing you will notice is alot of the same materials are carried over.

Realize all 3 use another company's power package. Wether it is International, Cummins, or Izuzu/Allison.

I did this and made my decision. Pick which one you like best and go from there.

I am probably going to be trading my 2007 CrewMax in for a 2011 F-250 diesel. Pretty dang impressive truck. Word on some of the Ford forums is that its getting low 20's on the highway and 18 in the city. Not bad for a 400 hp 750 lb ft of torque truck!! Plus I LOVE the size of it and the information display on the dash!

Wait for the 2011

This new Ford built diesel is smooth, quiet and powerful. I have driven it and it runs well. The new 6 speed auto is so far way better than Fords previous auto trannys. We've only had it a week but so far its getting 18 mpg hiway.
