Thinking about buying a sled, will there be snow?

So i'm thinking about buying a snowmobile this year, but i'm worried this winter will be a repeat of last year. Is it safe to assume that I will be able to find decent snow within a 2-3 hour drive from bellingham? I would hate to spend 10gs and not be able to use my new toy.

There was riding to be had most of the winter last year. Just wasn't perfect all the time but still fun and rideable.

I work full time and was still able to log 1700 miles last year. Yeah, we had to work for it, and yeah it wasn't always the best, but we had a lot of fun!

and yeah, lots of great riding a few hours north of you near Whistler/Pemberton B.C.

Whats a good club up here?
how hard would it be to find people to ride with?
Besides doubting the weather, I'm not ignorant enough to head up to the mountains alone.
Does anyone know of any places in BC that have guided backcountry tours, but let you use your own sled?

is a great club.

If you post on here during riding season, I'm sure you could find people to ride with too.

Jorli Ricker with SnowRide Adventures will let you bring your own sled and speaking from experience, is a great guide with top notch service:

Jorli Ricker, Chris Brown, talk with Snowmoherb, he'll give you an idea what it's like.

Whistler

Ray Mason for the Hurley tenure is fantastic!
There will be snow this year as in El Nino years we get snow - just may be skinny down low and heavy on top. 1997 was a record year on Baker and that was an El Nino year.

Oh, I've also ridden with Geoff Kyle up there too. Good, but different experience than riding with Jorli. Chris Brown rides those giant turbo Yamahas, not too sure what that would be like or if he lets you bring your own sled, he probably would.

Message me on here if you want more details...

What's your skill level?

The Whatcom County Snowmobile Association might be a club to check out as they are in your area. I'm a member of the Glacier Cruisers and we would love to have ya. We share riding areas with the Whatcom club and many of our club's members are members there as well. A couple times a year the two clubs plan rides together. Ya can't go wrong with either club--or both.
The Glacier Cruisers had their first club meeting of the year on Thursday in Burlington. We meet the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Come on down and check it out!

Oh, as for snow--there is always somewhere to ride!

well since your name is outlaw....just be aware that if you have a criminal record and any DUI's you will not be going to Canada. But if your good to go revy early season then whistler zone later in the season is where its at if we have a low snow year. Go to a few club meetings in bellingham and you will meet some folks.

Lol, I'm good to go...

It's not quite so cut and dry, you can still potentially go to canada but it's more hassle. It depends on what your crime (s) were, and when. As for DUIs, you can pay a large fee after a certain amount of time to get in.
