Thinking about buying a 07 M1000... Problems???

Hello All:

I am considering the purchase of a 07 M1000. I have an 05 M7 now, so I understand the chassis pretty well. I know that the DD is a constant issue and needs to be serviced frequently. What are other potential problems with these sleds? I understand that there could be some bogging, which may require some tuning/new box. What else? I heard the motor mounts break? Is that true? What else? Thank you very much!

If it still has the 4 weight primary clutch buy a 3 weight before the spider cracks and lets go. Secondary clutch rollers are good to 2000 miles if you are lucky. Sled doesnt transfer very good do the geo mod. If it still has the original motor mounts they tend to sack out pretty quick 1500 miles or so. Change the diamond drive oil lots like every 400 miles. They bog becouse the exhaust outlet gets plugged. Seal it up or get a tunnel dump set up. Vent the clutch compartment or you will blow belts. Any more questions PM me I went through 2000 frustrating miles with one.
 
I HAD A 07 M1000 AND THE FOUR POST HELD UP AS GOOD AS ANY 3-POST

MAYBE A LITTLE BETTER, I FRAGGED THE SPIDER ON MY 3 POST, IF U HAVE THE OPPURTUNITY BUY ONE WITH A POWER CLAWIT HELPS A LOT, ALSO IF U CAN AFFORD IT PUT A PIPE, Y-PIPE AND CAN ON IT WITH AN EFI BOX, REALLY MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE, SENSE THE 07 M1000 IS 30 LBS HEAVIER THAN AN 09
 
What are you doing with the M7. Might be interested in that. :)

As for the 07 M1000.

The geo mod will not work with the old spring coils in the rear.

Otherwise, like others said, service the diamond drive, get a y pipe and can, (I have a BMP I might be willing to sell), Get some EGT's to watch things, otherwise ride it. O. and upgrade the track. The stocker is not much. not good at all in the spring. Pretty good in the deep fluffy powder but again not good on the hard pack.

Way too heavy!! Compared to your m7. get it dialed in and the 07 might make ya squirm.
