Got the 174 out for a real ride today ... fresh snow, but it was basically 4-6" of fresh on top of hard pack, so not the most ideal conditions for the 174, but, I'm actually kind of glad the snow was what it was today. Reason being, it highlighted any weaknesses in the 174s maneuverability. I have to say, I basically agree over all with what most of the review on Youtube said (SnowTrax, AmSnow, etc) .... Its a much more significant change going from a 163 to a 174 than it was a 155 to a 163 .... Let there be no mistake, it does require more effort to ride, but I'll be damned if even in the snow conditions we had today I was pulling some things on this sled that would have stuck my 163. Snow was a lot deeper in the trees, and I'm amazed at how much more forgiving this sled is than the 163 .... stopping up hill in a tree well used to be a major issue, I did it about 4 times today believe it or not .... Anyways, I'm definatley digging the 174..... I think for larger folks that want to ride deep snow in the back country, this is the sled to have.
