Things that are a "big deal" on here that aren't IRL

To continue with what icr said above on lower bars; the fad to no longer use handlebar risers.

Also the fad that grab straps are now for rookies. They add no weight and at times are handy. Why not have it.

Not a big fan of short bars and short seats, but I am 6'2" tall and can get over a stock height seat just fine.

Must dos
-Lower bars
-36" front end and shocks all around (best money you can spend)
-Fire and ice intake
-Hood strap kit to get rid of stupid zeus fasteners I run fire and ice.
-Mds clutch kit

A lot of hype for little gain
-Fix kits
-big bores
-pipes/cans
-aftermarket skid (just not needed on a stock sled) would be required on turbo or big bore.

I put a 2" riser on my stock bars. I would liked a 3" but the cables seemed to be a little to stretched for that even though some have done it. I get a sore back with the stock set up. It's not for everyone I know.

"Clutch Kits"

Oh and the famous aftermarket saying that everyone gives you. WE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT ISSUE BUT IF YOU FIGURE IT OUT LET ME KNOW

^ Totally.

Discussing an issue or failure to a dealer or aftermarket co:

"That's really weird, you are the first one to have this problem - ever."

Describing the same issue on the forums:

"OMG you didn't know that happens to every single one - ever?" "You should have had a (kit, different sled, completely unrelated selection of expensive aftermarket parts)"

Mod's I am happy with:
3" Track
Carl's clutching
CSP Guage Lifter with built-in SPAL fan
Mike Taylor Footwell vents
1" riser (I am 6' and it seems like the right height now to me)
REV ski rubbers
Passo Cap

Not happy with:
Well, maybe my Burandt lock ride and bag - locking system sucked (had to replace the locks with bolts and wingnuts) and the bag is not waterproof at all. But the bag is just the right size and doesn't get in my way when I ride so not a big deal to use a waterproof pouch inside of the bag.

So I would say thanks to everyone on here for posting up info and reviews, you really helped me out and I don't feel like I wasted any $$.

Cheers!
