Thigh pads? Is there such a thing? Kind of like football pants?

Does anybody know if there are any pants or liners with thigh protection? I went over the bars and was out for three weeks because my thighs hit the handlebars so hard. I had a bruise from my hip all the way down the front of my quadricep to my knee. It still hurts to walk and its been a month. I wear knee pads and a chest protector, but really want to get something for the thighs. Am I going to have to resort to football pads?

On a side note, my friends thought it was hilarious. The sled bucked me over the bars and then ran me right over. I had to turn out of a steep climb. I barely made it around a tree and then had to come down the hill in kind of a bad spot with some small drop-offs. First drop of three feet wasn't bad but wasn't ready for the next 5 footer and the hole at the bottom. Endo-City! It took them about 20 minutes to stop laughing, so at least I was the entertainment for the day! Snow was too good to stop for the day so I rode the rest of the day with them. On the ride home I stiffened up and could barely stand up when we went to unload the snowmobiles. Sucks to get old!

I know like mcdavid sells padded thigh things they are in my eastbay.com sports catalogue. I don't know if thats what you are looking for but for football i wore a type of hit proof compression pants that had build in mini thigh pads that I got from eastbay or any other major sporting goods store I am sure would carry them. Mine were from mcgregor they were pretty thin and I don't believe would get in the way at all with snowpants on. Like I said I used them from football so the range of motion was pretty good.

They have all kinds, I wear some under my gear when I ride moto.

They are kind of like biker shorts with hip thigh and tail bone protection.
I will try and find the brand name for you.

i know a few kids who snowboard in the park with them, search for 661 stuff, u beleive they have something, and there products come highly recomended from the dirt, stree, and the snow worlds.

Thanks Guys. Exactly what I was thinking!

:D I'm going with the EVS PP05. Looks like exactly what I was looking for. The 661 Bomber looks good too but $15 more. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Wow... I wreck a lot but haven't needed any hip protection yet. Sounds like the padded moto shorts would be all you need.

The sixsixone hip pads work great! After breaking my femur in 4 places at the hip joint last January, I bought some, because just touching the break area hurts. I used them all summer on the Jetski just in case I hit the water hard, and they work great for sledding too. :o
