Not really a snow condition report...but an AHole report. Beware of your fuel tank while parked in the parking lots of our great riding areas. We returned to the truck in the Sheman parking area near Pindale, WY. After loading and preparing to leave we noticed the gas tank was completely emptied. I guess they think they have it so bad after riding, greed and envy come raging in to their head. How many we're in their group? I must assume it was more than one person. This sucks. Now I feel like private pile in Full Metal Jacket. Am I the AHole with the unlocked foot locker? Our group is now motivated to install locking fuel caps on out pickups, which, by the way, everything else was locked up tight. Toolboxes, trailers and tailgates were all locked, all but the fuel. Is that all they would have takien?
Although this sucks, I still love the area. Staying in Alpine provides some of the best riding around. I'll be back. I'll just have more keys to deal with. Ride safe everyone.

Last year a friends trailer was broke into and lost 3k in tools and riding gear, helmets everything was stolen. Eventually they will be caught and beaten to a pulp. (Hopefully)

My cabin got broken into last year in alpine all they took was the 42" led tv which sucked brand new. When I talked with the sheriff he mentioned that there were a lot of trailers broken into last year. I'm for sure going to get a locking gas cap for my truck sorry about your loss sure a lot of worthless ppl out there who steal

That sucks to hear! Seems to be getting worse. We have dealt with environmental freaks dumping nails on the ground in the parking area here in the Snowies. It would be great to catch these losers in the act!!!

Well if it makes anyone feel any justice, I was one of the many who had their truck and trailer broken into in Alpine Last year. One person had hit Wolf Creek, Alpine, and Afton parking lots. They would do it in broad day light. I had about $500-$700 worth of stuff stolen including two beacons. Coincidently I found a beacon up for sale in Afton on E-bay the same day. I bought my beacon back under a differen't name and location. It was my beacon. That, along with some good investigation from Lincoln County put the guy in Jail. His name is Josh Crook from Smoot Wyoming (near Afton). I won't name his girlfriend who sold my beacon back to me, for I am not completely sure she knew what was going on. I don't believe the problem is fellow sledders, but local meth heads looking for a quick buck. The good news is if we keep our eyes and ears open we can catch people when they try to pull this crap off in these small towns. If you see Josh Crook or know him, make sure that he does not feel welcome to this community!! Sorry to hear in the above post that you had your gas stolen, I know the anger. Too bad we can't serve justice the old Wyoming way with a stout tree and a good rope.

I live in Smoot and there a couple of real losers in this tiny town. Star Valley has some real scum for such a small town. The vast majority of folks are the best you will find anywhere but a few need to get lost for sure.
