Three Points:
1) The change in CO2 occurs between 500 and 1000 years AFTER the change in temperature, meaning it's more likely the change in CO2 was caused by a change in temperature due to oceans out gassing CO2 as they warm and dissolving CO2 as it cools. Also, the change in CO2 concentrations in proportion to temperature is too large to be physically possible, i.e. a change in CO2 concentration from 180 to 280 ppm can not produce a 10 degree temperature change. Clearly this iconic plot can not be used to argue the case for catastrophic warming from anthropogenic green-house gases, e.g. carbon dioxide, as Al Gore and other have promoted.
2) There are several articles out there questioning the accuracy of this type of atmospheric CO2 concentration reconstruction from ice cores along with similar studies. Essentially, the author experimentally show these plots suggesting CO2 concentrations changing with temperature are generated as a result of an artifact of the ice matrix.
3) There is no clear proof that CO2 concentration is a significant driver of temperature. There have been periods in Earth's history where CO2 concentrations were 10 times what they are today yet the earth was in ice house conditions, i.e. ice age. There is no evidence which suggests CO2 is a significant driver of Earth's climate. In fact, most data I've seen says anthropogenic CO2 has a much smaller effect on temperature then is portrayed by the IPPC, James Hansen, Gore, among others.

Damn dog, that's nice data. Did you see the antarctic bunch, located some 2 million year old ice. Their planning to sink a bit into it this Summer, I mean winter. Should extend that record out a little. So, what's the consensus. Hardliners sticking too the original plan? Or, is the tide shifting?

I think the tide is shifting, the hardliners are relying on thier previous brainwashing allowing them to switch the arguement to climate change. Thus giving them continued control of the topic.
Was watching a show tonight and some hollywood shmuck comes on and starts asking people to give 18 dollars a month to save the polar bear, seems the polar ice is melting and the polar bears will be extinc in the next 20 years if we don't do something now.
On the cartoon network you can go to a website and play a game for free. You can fight the evil Co2 monsters and save the planet.
The brain washing of our childeren is under a full head of steam.

I think their mentality is pretty much "Sue first, make up data to support frivolous suit later" ...
They will sue and sue and sue on whatever whack-*** grounds they can in order to stop something, then tie it up in court while they come up with some paid-off expert witness or whatever .... and there are so many bull**** "environmental laws" and regulations now about EVERYTHING they have a leg to stand on for their rediculous lawsuits ...
I swear, it's not "environmentalists" who are driving this, it's lawyers

That is when the Mayan calender ends and the Mayans believed that it will be the end of time........We shall see I guess. Some scientists say that the earth will move to a different point on its axis. Scientists believe that is what happened the last time. I don't buy into a lot of the crap spewed out, but when I hear December 21, 2012 I think that possibly the sh!t could hit the fan.
Time to bring this back once again. Long but worth watching.

According to the beating they took for doing that documentary, It's no wonder they didn't make an updated version lately. Someone should do an American version, but I don't know who would play it. Isn't there some fair use clause for public TV?

Very good Scott, People have gotten too lazy to think for them selves and are perfectly willing to have someone else do it for them. The loss of the ability to think and use old fashioned common sense along with believing every thing some scientist dreams up is taking us down a hard and expensive road. What is a scientist ? Is there a test for it? It seems to me it is a self proclaimed nomenclature. Maybe I am a scientist too, if so I say BULL on climate change!
I was talking more about plants... pretty much all life ends if the sun isn't there....
As far as power... if we could utilize all the energy from the sun in a square unit area that is possible, energy would never be an issue.
If you look at the graph posted above you will see a huge concentration of Co2 in the atmosphere as Compared to now. When the sun shines on the earth plants take in Co2 and through the miracle of photosynthesis create carbon based lifeforms and expel Oxygen. Currently the population of the earth has exceeded the carrying capcity of the sun and we are relying on stored energy of the sun. All of that carbon in the armosphere a long time ago has been turned into oil. Matter cannot be destroyed, humans have not created any more carbon than there was when time began. Until we start recreating the power of the sun through nuclear energy we will be dependent on the stored energy of the sun in fossil fuels. The bottom line is the sun is powering everything, just not directly.
Global Warming is BS, but the envirocomies will try and blame whatever is happening on us to further their agenda, whatever that is.
Now surely, you know that's not true. The simple answer is ethanol, as an existing example. Though, the stuff were doing right now isn't going to take us far. Cellulosic bio generated has better potential. Pond scum is promising. Take CO2 from a coal power plant, and pump it and sun light, through a big bio growth tank. The CO2 just speeds growth. The "special" pond scum, makes great bio-diesel. You can also use sun light to make other types of fuel, or power energy storage.
It will take time to develop. But, at least I see hope that we can do it without oil, if we have too. Won't be cheap though. Important part, is to have something on the back burner, being developed, if the oil countries decide to punish us.
A scientist, is anyone that uses the scientific method to describe, investigate, or create things. (not religion or myth) You don't have to go to school, just use logical thinking. Helps if you have a paying job, with a title.
