#1 RULE WHEN STUCK ON HILL: you get yourself out. The rest of your group can eat lunch and heckle you from a safe spot below!

Yep! If you are big enough to climb the hill and get stuck on it, you are big enough to get yourself unstuck.
1 Person on a hill at a time and the other should be "lookouts".
