Well, we were pretty excited about our plans to camp and ride at Mt Baker this past weekend. We had the sleds loaded, trailer stocked with food and beer, gear bags packed, fueled up, extra sunscreen...couldn't wait to get out on the snow and play in the sunshine with friends.
I put in a half day of work on Friday and then we hit the road...literally! Not 45 minutes from home and we get this to deal with:
Sheared the bolts right off.
The tire ended up along side us...
...after only one bounce off the trailer.
We started making calls for a tow while the dog patiently waited.
Assessed the damage...
Not too bad considering we were cruising along at 65 mph on I-5.
Not much to do while we waited.
Fortunately we had a fridge full of cold beer! And a sled to play on in the sunshine...
More to come...
