the reality of the new xp like it or not

I don't know many sleds that hold up too well for that either Chubs. How have your running boards been holding up? Do the bigger guys out there have problems bending theirs?

I put F-bombs better boards on mine, and they seem to reinforce them a bit. 500 miles so far without bending. I have a 163" track, so I'm not doing a whole lot of drops.

Not close. Full leathers, track days, canyon's and no around town crap like most Harley riders. I also desert race, Moto X, and have a XR650R street legal supermoto scooter for ripping around town scaring old ladies and Harley riders. I respect my elders Slick. So you are alright by me. That being said, I would LOVE to take you for a sled ride;) If you ride like me, I just might like ya! Don't assume to much. I never said i was an "around town rider" and if you've paid attetion, i generalize most Harley riders. I have yet to single you out as you have me. Cheers:beer;

Sorry for the lack of response. Been gone a bit. I also don't do the town thing, my 04 bike has just turned over 58,000 kms, and not much of it in towns. And if you do respect your elders whys it that you'd want to scare an old lady. And, if you can scare a Harley rider on a 4 stroke dirt bike , he ain't really a Harley rider, just owns one. Heres a tip for ya, buy the KTM, XR's nice but rapidly falling behind.
And I ain't "singlin you out" , tough to do that, you XP guys all look and sound the same to me. ;)

I just don't get it. People either are lying about having no problems or just don't care about them. If a sled eats belts every 200-300 miles, that should be cause for concern in anyones book. A local dealer had 6 sleds with motor problems. Thing is, they were different issues on most of them. I don't doubt that there are some that work, but the majority seem to have problems.

'preciate your concern- but this is an awesome sled. 700 miles and getting better with age.Reminds me of a bunch of church ladies- concerned that somebody might be having a good time!:D Go enjoy riding your sled and if
it doesn't doo it for you- get an XP - I guarantee it will put a smile on
your face!:)

I don't doubt that they rip. Just wondering why everyone thinks that it is OK to have so many problems with a sled? I understand that they will warranty things when they break, but who likes having their sled sit at a dealer rather than be out riding it?

My dealer is 500 miles away.

So Nytros are the last word in reliability?

Sure they are! My buddies Nytro broke a shock shaft cruising down the trail! Lot's of them have bent front ends too! Just like the REV's. It's tough enough to engineer a light weight sled, just imagine being a Yammy engineer:eek: Most of them worked in various ship yards:rolleyes:

Trintiy, give me a break,

If Yamaha had as many engine failures as Doo did they would be finished for good. Some of the Yamaha products have had 0 engine failures since their inception. Can Doo ever claim that ???? I know what its like to ride a Doo, and it will never have the same quality as a Yamaha !

We were up at the Ears today and we ran across a kid (16) with an XP at the base of a moderate climbing area. I stopped to talk to him to see how he like his sled. He starts ranting about how it is the best sled ever made and it is way better than Polaris. (my sled) He proceeds to say how great it handles and how reliable it is. He says that he is riding with a couple of guys on new Dragons and they can't keep up. He starts to head off and after about 5 or six pulls he remembers his kill switch. 4 more pulls and off he goes as his "friends" show up. It turns out that this kid "borrowed" his dads new sled and was breaking it in. He just latched on to the group of Poo riders. About half way up a moderate climb he starts to trench it and instead of turning out he keeps it pegged.
A loud bang and silence. A couple of us climb up past him and drop back down to yank him out down to the trail. (Ok I did have to poach the dragons track to do it) One busted crank. I wonder how he felt about being towed back to the trailhead by a Poo.
Ahh.. instant karma.

Do you work for Yamaha? How would you know that they "claim" zero engine failures? I didn't say anything about their engines. I was simply pointing out the shock and front end issues the Nytro's have! Punk:mad:

People love to throw around the "12k" thingy. Did anybody really pay $12,000 for an XP? My 154X was $9,900.

Only the people that weren't smart enough to get a good deal. For everyone that got a deal like you, there are a couple that didn't.
The thing that amazes me is that most of the trash talkers are too fat to even stand up to ride their machine anyways. Let's face it, not everyone on here rides at a high skill level.
