the reality of the new xp like it or not

cost of sled (163x) around $10700. cost of extra pair of warm dry gloves for the 3 rides i waited for handwarmer fix $50.cost of plugwelding drive shaft at local machine shop $80(for peace of mind, mine looked fine). cost of DJ's clutch kit $300. so for just over 11 grand you get 2.8lbs per hp,the best handling ski-doo ever, and tons of fun. definately some inconviniences in the beginning but its a first year build, ask AC about there new one or poo about the 800 dragon and its issues(clutching, drive sprockets spreading apart, cranks...) get your current sled down to 430lbs, buy those titanium a-arms, that boss seat, light weight hood, maybe vanamburg tunnel where are you at $17k to $20k? all in all this is the best sled i have ever ridden and for alot less money than 20k.

Argeed. I think all the bashing is due to jelousy. Yeah it has some issues but man it sure rips!!!

I rode one this last weekend and liked it alot. There the lightest thing ive been on with awsome power. I want one for a second sled and for my wife to ride when she wants to come out. Fix the jack shaft if needed and quit crying over the little stuff. M1000 are blowing up on the second ride, where im from. People wine to much on these forums and give a sled a bad rep off the bat.

A few issues to deal with like every other sled on the market, but all in all I absolutely love this machine and would not trade it for another sled out there.

Make that 2 of us. By far the funnest sled I've ever ridden. Haven't encountered the problems yet, but only got about 15 rides on it so far. I wouldn't trade it for anything right now.

xp's rock...

I think they are great , less competition for other brands...
They sure rip up the moutains, with great conviction and great reliablity:D

With the overall advances in sled technology, especially with the xp potentially setting the bar higher, do you all think that ubercustom sleds like crazy mt. extreme are a little outdated? don't get me wrong, I would take one in a heartbeat.

I bought an M7 and turboed it for $9200 and not only does it get better fuel mileage than the xp, it makes em look stupid at 2lbs of boost.

Thats reality :) Pretty sad huh? and I dont wrench .25% of what BRP riders do nor do I complain. 20k? I think not, I have yet to find a sled that will match it dollar for dollar. And its just a 700  and an 05', and im still on the same belt at 230hp at elevation 400 miles later........

And remember, were not talking stock for stock, your talking dollar for dollar, so dont spew your stock vs mod bullcrap with me :) the way it looks, even with buying race fuel my sled is cheaper to run than the new 800xp

ouch.......

Hey guys,
just my 2 cents.... I rode one for an hour, ahh its nice and light, floats nice, transitions from downhill to uphill nicely on firm snow.
but thought the handling sucked when boondocking ... It felt like driving a car really fast backwards, "shopping cart effect".... I personally didnt like that unbalanced feeling where it wanted to throw me off the opposite way I wanted to turn, I dunno if its the extreme rider forward, or what?.. but I would take the Rev platform any day due to that fact....

Outside of that, it looks great, its light, climbs well, and accelerates well.

The sled may fit fine for someone else, but just didn't work for me....

M1000's are blowing up on the second ride? I haven't had to do any shaft replacing 30 miles away from the truck over six knarly hill climbs...

Are you kidding, Dragon clutching issues? That's the pot calling the kettle black. Also, I have yet to hear about a single 08 800 crank issue.

Just think, you buy a XP for 13,000 CDN. The belts are 160 bones a pop. After 37 belts you could of bought that turbo Apex. You may laugh at that 37 belts but some guys are getting close to 10 belts already. What would you rather have ? A belt blowing BRP or a Turbo Yammy ! LOL
