love my ford... but who ever thought of this stupid plug design for the 3 valve tritons need to be killed..

and 4.5 hrs later i have all 8 of them out... now to suck the pieces out of the cylinders and ic an reinstall the new design plugs

Had that happen on my old work truck. They told me they need to be changed every 70,000. At 100,000 they came out in pieces. Every one of them.

Seen that lots.

If a truck comes in with 100,000 km (much less 100K miles....!) Ford has a penetrant that they developed for the issue. You pull the coil packs, slightly loosen the plugs, spray it in and ideally don't even look at the truck again till the next day. Then work them back and forth and they will come out in one piece.

Agreed tho, a silly design. But maybe one day when chebby (and dodge for that matter) decide to step into the current era and abandon their archaic pushrod engines from the '60's they will have some better ideas.
