The hate on 165 2.75 Series 8

Yeah. Just would like some details on the process of cutting it down
Turn the track inside out, and put extensions on a table saw. Measure the amount to cut of and pull the track thru the saw. MAke sure you have spray lubricant as the blade gets very hot.

Place a couple 4x4 post on the inside of the track to help keep it square.

Got a link to the track you selected? Asking for a Doo friend. :)

Checking out TracksUSA (Love buying from that guy). Only one spec available. Would be curios to call him to see if there is maybe this or if he might have a stiffer Durometer track laying around. I called him one time on a Camoplast for a Cat 144 that had similar problem, folding over so that the lugs would actually start to bend the opposite direction and chunking lugs. He had 2 of the same track in stiffer durometer that were something stupid for price like $400-450 Shipped to Wyoming. Cured the problem with that sled for me.

All this track talk has me thinking. I’ve got 1 ride on this track. I know the engine has a lot of pull. You feel it on packed snow.
I’m coming off of all Cats. 2.6 and most recently 3”.
In deeper snow that cat 3” track will find and use anything for traction and really pushes large gulps of snow out the back. That makes for a lot of hold on scenarios. Once the characteristics are learned and used to the advantages, it is a lot of fun.
The 2.7 is a much more conservative feel and definitely helps control maneuvers. I’ve got some learning to do on it for sure.

I was really just teeing up someone for some good responses. I’ve only got 1 ride on it so not sure what its all about yet. Vibrated on groomed and packed trail. I Didn’t really notice it running around in deeper snow.

It could be your track tension. I ran my series 8 real tight last year which caused vibration on the trail. Running it a lot looser on my ‘22 now and no vibration.
