the best 2010 mountain sled?????

looking for opinions from guys who have rode more than just one sled,
I'm looking into a new sled (a left over 2010) all I know is ski doo but am open to arctic cat or polaris.
I have a 08 146 rev xp 800, i want a longer track... 154ish. I like the doo but hear great things about the snopro cat for 2010
any thoughts would be appreciated

First get some popcorn ready. 2nd. If your already comfortable on your xp why not get another one in a 154. I love my m8 153 and wouldn't trade it for an xp or poo. But who knows if your gonna like the cat or poo. You'd have to try them. People will tell you their brand is the best but the only way to know is to try each sled. Xps are a great sled, I'm not comfortable on them but a lot of peeps are. The m8 straight up rips. It just comes down to preference. I can't say anything bad about cat but if I were you since you already know how the xp handles and you like it then go buy a 2010 xp

Try them all and pick the one you like. The M8 was at the top for mountain sled sales last year.

As stated above, try em and get what you like. Another couple factors I would consider. What do all your buddies ride? If they all ride Polaris 800s and you are the only XP you won't have anyone to bounce setup ideas off of or have quick help when you need a part or advice. Also, dealer support should be considered. If you have a great local Ski-Doo dealer, the XP may get pushed to the top just because of this. I remember when I was younger and we had a really small shop in town and my dad always told me to get whatever sled Dave (the owner) had because he would know it inside and out and have all the parts in stock for that model......it was always wise advice.

The best 2010 mtn sled I rode all last year was the demo PRO!

DEALER FIRST... BRAND SECOND! They are all good by design and can quickly be messed up by inferior setup and support.

It seems pretty straight forward to me at this point. If you like your sled to be tippy arctic cat is the best, polaris is a close second and potentially new best depending on how the new sled works out. If you like your sled not-so-tippy and/or weight is more important than handling ski doo is the best. I would say that is pretty much the best you can do to make a decision without riding them all. If I had the money I would probably be taking a chance on the polaris.

I definitely prefer to ride either of my RMK's over the '09 Summit XP.

Some good advice here.... maybe almost GREAT advice. A small hint, if they flat out recommend a certain brand, be wary. Listen to the guys that seem the most unbiased. The dealer IS very important, as is your riding style compared to the strongpoints of whichever particular sled.

Good luck, and whatever you buy, ride the he!! out of it! :)

M8, but thats not being biased....its being honest

hey all
thanks for the great advice, if my local AC dealer can match the local doo dealer for price on a 2010, I think I will go for the m8 snopro

I would honestly ride them both or at least sit on them first....besides having a motor and a track, the XP and the M-sleds could not be much different. The power, weight, specs yada yada are close enough, but the riding style and experience are night and day different. You could LOVE one and completely HATE the other, depending on how you ride, your body type, etc.

ended up buying a 2010 xp, buy what you know right.
I feel good about it and added a few upgrades to make it a bit better. i checked out the 2011 pro rmk the other day,
all I can say is WOW! what a sweet sled.
I hope I can get a chance to try one this season. maybe next season...

Get a Dragon or M8...Handle ten times better than your XP!!!

BEST ADVISE: Wait until snow flies. Get your crdit card and 2 buddies and go to Island Park, West, Cooke or wherever has snow and a good selection of rentals. Rent a Doo, Poo and Cat. Spend 2 solid days comparing and switching sleds. Do this early in the season before the rental sleds get trashed. To me, this is truely the fairest way to test side by side. In all fairness, you can't compare most sleds because people lie about what they do to them. The winter the M8's came out I checked a 153 M8. within a few rides I installed a 162. We were almost done with the first ride before anyone noticed the longer track. It was then very plain to see why I was the new highmark. Just my .02. I personally have been wanting to do this for a long time It would be a blast to have all three to compare at the same time.

Well that just makes to dang much sense! How can we all brand bash if we used facts before purchasing....:face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton

I dont think you can go wrong with Cat, Polaris, or Doo. Look for the best deal and you will get comfortable on whatever you get. If the prices are close go with what you feel is best for you.
