Thank you to all the people who helped get my Husband off the mountain!

Update;
Just returned from seeing Wade. He looks pretty good and they are working towards getting him ready to go home physically. His Mom is there keeping vigil and he is being tortured by the hospital staff. I did alot of puking on them during my deal and that kept them away! His throat is a wreck so he doesn't get that option.

Anyway he was sad and is starting in on not feeling good emotionally! He is feeling that standard depression of being racked up and the frustration of being confined. It's up to all of us to keep him positive and help him keep his chin up. He'll get better and he'll do great but he is in for a tough road. The road is not only tough for Wade but it will be a challenge for his family and friends. Do your part and help by simply letting him know you care! Been there and felt what he is experiencing and it is absolutely brutal. I almost couldn't get through just being in the hospital to see him for a very brief time as it brought back the crap that ruined my life as I knew it. Made me physically sick hearing the story and couldn't take much.

Anyway...he once again wanted to make it clear that his friend Tom saved his life! Don't know that Tom even gets on SW but when I see him I'm going to pass that on again. The entire deal sounds like it had many heroes but for certain Tom is one.

Hey,
Wade is doing very well physicaly but like you said he is getting down on himself. We are trying our very best to keep his spirits up. He was out of bed today and sitting in one of the lazy boy chairs for most of the day and then standing. Its very hard for me to not give him what he wants but tomorrow the P.T. crew, his mom and I will be pushing him hard to start walking and reminding him that it is one step closer to getting back home!! He also got the stitches out of his trech today!! woohoo.. Thank you guys for all your postive thoughts. Keep e'm coming!

After being in the ICU myself for several weeks with a broken neck I know how down you can get. He needs family and friends big time. It looks like he is getting all of that. Keep it up. Best wishes for Wade and family.

Rob is right on. Wade needs positive reinforcement now. Let him know that you care about him. He is also correct about Tom's role in saving his life. If he had not been there in the first few minutes it would have likely been a different outcome. After that it was Wade's strength and desire to live that were the most important thing for all of us who were trying to help. He kept going while we waited what seemed like forever for the helicopter. I can't believe that it has been almost a week since it happened.

Wade, keep getting better! I will try to get over there again to see you this weekend.

Courtney and Wade, our hearts go out to you! What a freak accident! Scott and I were sick when we heard. Recovery takes time, so give yourself a chance to heal. I'm sorry you're going through this. I know it's tough. Hang in there.

Best wishes to Wade for a complete & speedy recovery! This story does make you grateful for the friends you ride with and their willingness to do whatever it takes during a event like this. Glad to hear that the healing is going well. And good luck to the family/friends in the area that will be the key to keeping Wade's spirits up!!

Thank you to all that helped me with this accident. I can't talk for a month and typeing is hard with a cast.

Special THANK YOU to TOM HASSELL You saved my life Brother!!! I will never be able to repay you.

Wishing you well Wade & Courtney. I know the cabin fever has set in hard, just relax & take the recovery process through. The more time you give yourself to heal the better the outcome will be. Somebody get this guy a laptop with wireless so he can surf around & keep busy. Youll be out & back at it before you know it. Get well.
