Thank you to all the people who helped get my Husband off the mountain!

Courtney Please tell Wade we are all worried and pulling for him. I just rolled into town and will be down tomorrow to see him. Please take good care and hang in there. Rob and Megan

Chris Perkins

Chris was the injured rider at West Mountain. He is OK but had surgery on wrist and knee as far as I know.

I was with Wade and Tom at Goose Lake. The man is so lucky to be alive! He was asphyxiating before our eyes due to the trachea injury. I held him along with several other people for nearly an hour standing in the water. All I can say is he is one tough dude. I have no idea how he survived the accident. He definitely had one angel on his side named Tom Hassell. How Tom got the sled off of him and turned him over in the water is beyond me.

I went to see Wade in the hospital yesterday. He was coherent but both eyes were swollen shut and he could not speak because of tubes down his throat. He was writing messages to us and he actually wrote a note thanking me for helping him. Good Lord, the guy was in critical condition and he writes a note to me thank me? I was stunned to say the least. That is the snowmobile community in a couple of words right there. Everyone that I ride with even if it is just once is my brother or sister for life. I know that they would do everything in their power to save my life and I would do the same for them.

I wish Wade and his family the best! Please let me know if I an help>

I am praying for you Wade. Sounds like a nasty crash. Get better soon. Wished I lived closer to come and see you. You have always been a great help to me for parts and I thank you again.

Update:
Hey he is out of his surgury that went late into last night. He is looking so much better. Most all of the swelling has gone down in his face. They un-sedated him a little and took him off the reperator so that he could breath on his own. So far so good, So we just need to keep him calm. He may be on a long road to recover by the hard part is over.

He is laughing and joking with us. He told Tom that he had cleared bigger jumps than that.

Thank you all for sticking in it with us. He really appreciates it.

Thanks for the updates, Courtney.

Best wishes for Wade on a speedy and healthy recovery.

-John

I am glad to hear Wade is doing better. I heard the news on Sunday but havn't heard much of an update since, needless to say he has been in our thoughts since we recieved the news. We will be in Boise tomorrow and plan on stopping in to see him. If there is anything we can do to help, feel free to ask.

Holy Moly - I just found this thread! Courtney - if there is anything you and Wade need, please don't hesitate to call on all of us - the snowmobile community is pretty tight knit and we are all here if you need us.

I am so relieved to hear he is doing well - you both are in our thoughts and prayers!

Wade is doing good. He is still breathing really well and resting. Other than a few run in's with a nurse he is holding up great!

I went in to see Wade today. Wow is all I can say. The difference from when I saw him on Saturday at Goose Lake and Sunday in the St. Al's ICU compared to today was amazing! He looked so much better. My friend, Dr. Schwarz, was his throat surgeon. I have known Matt Schwarz since high school. He is a damn good ENT doctor.

Wade looked good. He still has the tracheotomy tube in his throat and can't talk but he sure looks a lot better. Eyes open and swelling down. I know that he is frustrated with the situation but the good news is he is going to be fine with time.

You all should know that one of his products probably saved his life. He had just installed RSI risers, carbon fiber handlebars and a pad on his Dragon. That pad very probably was the difference maker. It had to have somewhat cushioned his throat when he hit the bank. He did not install the mountain bar and that probably was a good thing in this case.

He will be back riding powersports products with us before too long I am sure!
