Today is a day to reflect on the freedoms we have due to the sacrifices and hard work of our Veterans.

I myself am a vet (not by sitting stateside at a desk) and wish to thanks the men that have and still defend my families freedoms! Without you Our country would not survive..

i was a military fighter pilot for 22 years...never got shot down, but a close friend and squadron mate did...spent nearly 5 years in hanoi.....he never said anything about the time spent there, but in the shower room, the scars of the cigarettes, ropes, and bayonets spoke volumns....one night on a deployment, he had a couple of beers, and began to speak quietly of the night he got shot down, and the internment he went through, such hell i can only imagine....about 7-8 other guys in the room, all pretty tough mentally pilots, but there wasn't a dry eye in the room....we asked no questions, out of respect for his experience...when he was done, all was quiet for a long time before we quietly went back to our rooms...respect ?, oh yeah....
