Tethers

Where is the receptacle plug located on our axys to accept the OFT plug in? I looked quick but did not see it. Is it one capped ends I see taped? I pulled my OFT off of my 2015 RMK and want to use it again.

I show it on our website in the PDF for the Phantom on an AXYS.

OFT can freeze into a ball and not shut the sled off. Happens all the time in the deep. Not that I fall off much but when ever I see it getting froze I will check iit . I bought the stock one for the new sled.

have the pro-armor on my 15. i bought the plug and play stocker from polaris this year. pro-armor one is way over priced IMO.

Remove the side panel on the Mag side ( removing the hood makes it easier) and look under where the steering post comes through the cowling- you will see a black Velcro- bag that needs to be opened and you will find a black spade connector-
Plug and go from there.............

I'm going with this one made by Gunnar from Sweden, it seems pretty bomber!

Easy bar mount too.

I have been using the pro armor tether for 5 years. Extremely high quality. I get them on eBay for $20-$25 "universal" and simply crimp a spade connector to the 2 wires and plug it into the stock connection. No need to pay OFT price for same product with a connector at the end. Just installed mine yesterday on my AXYS and as usual it's great!! Mounted on bars like pic above

ProArmor tether is junk. The plastic fork snapped off on mine maybe the 2nd or 3rd time falling off the sled. Contacted ProArmor about getting a new cord, they (Austin Keene) said I needed to buy an entire new tether to get the cord. Told them I rather come on here and bash their POS product. Way to not stand behind your product PA, or at least give customers an option to buy replacement parts.

You can get replacement tethers from OFT Racing.

Thats crazy, I had one break on the first ride too!! Called them up and they sent a new clip out, no issues.

My Polaris tether is working just fine. Plug and play so quick install, factory look.

What is everyone using for a tether on their Axys sleds? I've used the stock Polaris one in the past and had a good experience on my 2012 but the one on my 2013 is a piece of crap and cuts in/out sometimes on pulls...not happy with that one.

Anyone know the Polaris part number of the Polaris one?

Also, what other options are out there...

Ryan

Polaris tether #2874379 is plug and play. See install details here: http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=402240
