What is everyone using for a tether on their Axys sleds? I've used the stock Polaris one in the past and had a good experience on my 2012 but the one on my 2013 is a piece of crap and cuts in/out sometimes on pulls...not happy with that one.

Anyone know the Polaris part number of the Polaris one?

Also, what other options are out there...

OFT for sure. I have used it for years and love it. I keep pulling it off my RMK's each year and will be putting it on my 16

the OFT product does seem overpriced, but i bought it anyways. there is no splicing of wires, no BS....just plug and play. 2 seasons on the wife's sled and no complaints.

I did the dealer installed option thru snow check for $39. Dealer didn't charge for installation. I like the location because my tether ring is on the left front side of my jacket.

I had the OFT on my 2013. It was very temperamental. Scary because I would pull it out on purpose and the sled would keep running. I changed the location, made sure the cable wasn't bound up and shot some silicone in the plastic. Still failed at times. I really like the design and ease of install. I'm just not sure I can trust it. Hopefully I'm the only one that had this issue. OFT offered to take it back and I forgot because the weather changed.

Same as Andretti here. Failed to stop it several times, sad to say.

second day out last year. Could have been the location I mounted, but installed the factory one after that.

Thanks for the mounting location pics guys...

On my 2013 with the factory tether I have it mounted dead center right above the gas cap...sometimes when sidehilling left (brake side) the tether gets caught up in the handlebars when I'm leaned really far into the sidehill...

Looking for better mounting positions on the 2016 to keep this from happening...

Unfortunately you're not alone, I got a pro armor tether and it is very slow to close, leaving the sled running for 5 seconds or more. I emailed pro armor and got some ****ty customer service so just gave up, not worth the hassle. Unless I can get it to close quicker this year, I'm gonna have to go with something else, which is too bad as I also like the design.

Tether on the new ski doos is sweet. Ball and claw clip style design. Not sure what the wiring is on it, but I'd use that if I wasnt going to try the pro armor. I hate the stock rubber cap style tethers. Always get snow and ice jammed in them and eventually the cap starts breaking down and the screw inside of the cap either falls out or it stops pushing the kill down far enough.

You guys can take the pro armor and pro design tethers apart and rough up the contractors with some scotch bright or something. They work fine after that.

Where is the receptacle plug located on our axys to accept the OFT plug in? I looked quick but did not see it. Is it one capped ends I see taped? I pulled my OFT off of my 2015 RMK and want to use it again.
