SW Video Tempest heated goggles - New Infinity lens, other updates

I went to try the photochromic and it was sold out. Bought a different flavor with a spare lense. Blue infinity i think.
might check again i see they are available i just got the photochromatic lens and tried it this last weekend it was a overcast day but can see very clear. we got back to town and a guy was looking for help to get a broken down sled out so we went back up and still had them on the frames, it was getting dark but still could see very clear..

Saw all the positive and gave tempest a try. I have a big head and the goggles didn't seal against my face. I actually had ice inside the inside lens and it would never turn on. Once worn you can't return. Lame return policy for a direct to consumer product. Great idea and seem to work IF they fit your face. HIt me up if you want to purchase snowmobile OG with red mirror and yellow lense.

I ran the A bomb for 4 years and was not overall happy with them- The fitment was not all that great, and fogging was an issues while stopping, and had to fumble with the on/off switch while riding to help conserve battery levels. Would make it maybe a full day. Gloved hands was hard to pinpoint the on/off

I spoke in depth with Vince ( CEO) of Tempest, a few weeks ago, and decided to try a pair of the Infinity with the photochromic lens.
Rode for 3 day's this week Sunday-Monday-Tuesday where the low's were -12 and a high of 17 yeah the ride in was chilly to the goods.
First thing I noticed when waiting on the other riders to get ready- my old A-Bombs, would fog up and I would have to turn them on LOW ( blue light) and they would start de-fogging. With the Tempest never once even a hint of fogging.

We had a lot of stuck's in the new snow we had and once, I noticed once a bit of mist forming at the very bottom but quickly dissipated, even taking them off/ on and breathing hard after a stuck.
Zero fog.
Kept them on getting people unstuck and no fog. They are pretty forgiving and could not find a dislike with them. So tired them in various situations.
Battery life, yeah I tested it and still had 2 bars of battery life after 3 full days of riding, and left them in the cold trailer over night .

Overall so far pleased with this initial testing of the Tempest to meet MY requirements, Back country riding, tree banging, trail riding in and out, getting maybe 40-50 miles a day So Yeah a full days ride.
The photochromic lens worked well and hope they last, as have had photochromic face shields years ago and the transaction ended up failing and staying clear , but that was 10-15 years ago when they came out.
When I was in conversation with Vince @ Tempest- He did say that he cannot claim to be 100% FOG FREE hard to claim that, but when I rode they sure were in this situation.

@goforbroke
If your still wanting to sell that pair, I would take them off your hands.

Aboms were the only thing that didn't let me down. I only had 2 days that I couldn't keep them unforgettable. No idea. They were usually awesome. Battery was only good for the day or most of the day. Fit in helmet was there only downfall.
I have 2 pair of tempest but seems I only need one. They are awesome. Threw the old aboms out still working. No idea how old but were the first season vintage. I have seen just a touch of fog on tempest and then it's just gone. Rode 2 days and only down 1bar. Last bar was blinking when I checked. Looks like I could go 2 or 3 more days if you wanted to push it. They fit my klim helmet great.

Agreed.. My Tempest fit much better than the Aboms in my Klim F5 helmet-
I still have my ABoms ( first generation) but they will just sit in the closest- My old Klim Radius goggle are my back up- They fit so well in the helmet.

i'm thinking the other heated goggle manufacturers are pretty much realizing that their current tech (external batt pack, wires, modes, buttons, etc,) is now obsolete.

How is the field of view with the Tempest goggles? Similar to 509's? Im currently using the Kingpin 509.
I think the field of view is slightly better with the 509 Kingpin's, but the rest of the Tempest goggle is night and day better than either of my 509 Ignites (Kingpin and Aviator 2.0 S1). The Tempest have yet to fog on me, and after 7 days on the snow, they're still at 75% battery. They've completely replaced my 509s.

The Lens Heating System

At the heart of every Tempest Optics goggle is the integrated and fully automatic lens heating system that warms the inner lens surface thereby preventing lens fogging.

The Magnetic Lens Attach

Tempest Optics sets the bar for lens swap simplicity with its magnet lens attach system. A total of 9 neodymium magnets are used to ensure perfect alignment and positive attachment making lens swaps a breeze.

The Lens Line-up

Tempest offers an array of optically exceptional lenses that take both form and function into account.

Blazing sun, flat light, storms, and night riding... we've got you covered.

The Rest

A primary goal in the design of the Tempest goggle was to not sacrifice any of the other important elements that matter in a goggle's design. Triple layer face foam, a wide strap with no-slip silicone beads, and venting top and bottom round out the offering.

I have to admit
I keep hearing people say that over and over again.
Those that own them seem to LOVE THEM

As I posted in the User Product Review thread, this is a piece of gear I’m 100% satisfied with. These goggles have lived up to, and even exceeded (battery life), advertising. They truly are put them on and they just work. The Klim eFire goggles were tempting but I’m so glad I went with Tempest. The no buttons, no heat modes, and no external batteries just flat out rock!

goggles didn't work for me, but they are popular with most. Sold them already. Glad to hear they worked great for you.

Same here with the fit. I have to cram them in against my face to get a full seal with my big head. They don't fog on the inside, but it's a bit of a pain putting them on. I'm going to see if my dad wants them or sell them to a buddy. Tried them with an older Shoei and a new TLD helmet. They fit much better with the newer TLD, but even with no helmet the fit isn't good. Going back to Smith XL fit.

I wear a XL-XXL helmet depending on the fit of that model for reference.

SnoWest's Ryan Harris sits down with Tempest Optics' Vince O'Malley to discuss the newest updates to the heated goggles. Ryan Thompson joins the show as well.

Tempest needs to get up to speed with spring/snow check and release goggles 2x/year. Especially since they continue to sell out.

Have been using the Photochromic all season. I am extremely satisfied with its performance. Power lasts all day. No fogging (and that has always been a problem for me). They even cleared up shortly after accidentally getting snow inside the goggle by dropping helmet into the snow. Fits my HJC helmet just fine. And works with my Quick Strap.
