temp light come on as motor blows

To let you know something was wrong.;) No really I don't know. Mine did the same thing on my pro-x when it dropped a valve. I figured the water pump belt had blown and it was just hot. I was really suprised when I went to restart it a bit later and it wouldn't turn over. Had to pull it 25 miles with my wifes 500.

i dropped an aluminum exhaust valve in my 700 ves and as it was blowing and clanking the temp light come on why would that happen

Is yours an 04 or 05? They have det sensors in them which when activated turn the temp light light. A det sensor is basically a knock sensor. My guess is that thing was knocking pretty good as your piston tried to eat up your exhaust valve!!! If it is an 03 or older, I have no idea why your temp light would come on.

yes its an 04 and it did knock pretty good when the valve went in this must be a comon problem because i hear about it lots where can you get stainless valves from i know 800 valves are stainless but a bit bigger?

Sorry to hear that. I'm in the same boat right now and wondering if you bothered to pull the clutch and check the crank run-out when you tore it apart? My fear is that stopping the engine that abruptly could get the crank out of true or even bend a rod.

Mine seized just like a lean condition. After it cooled a few minutes, it turned over again. I started it, heard a loud clang and that was all she wrote....My run-out was marginal before, now it's an unacceptable .00866"
