Those that use tdr reeds on your turbo xm's, what do you think of them? How's the throttle response? And where do I get a set of them ?

We have ran them for years. All the "old school" guys run them.

Sorry I have no experience on a XM. Buddy has had them on a XP for a few years. My Polaris 700 we hammered on them for years. No problems.

Oil em on install and you should be good.

They seem to be the longest lasting turbo reed since about 2007 I'd say.

OEM petals doubled up. have by far the best record for durability.
de tensioning the upper petal brings throttle response to the top of the heap.

absolutely zero failures since 2007.

reeds are like OIL, the choice is purely your own and the reason you pick one over another is 100 % personal.

the proof is always been that doubled better suits the pressure and volume of the column of air or air and fuel passing thru them. IMO, those nice kits sold by HPE called reed valve repair are my favorites.. yup,, 40 bucks of petals does a complete engine for 4 yrs. best bang for the buck .
as for response to throttle, that is in your hands. if you are a poor tuner you will find problems, good tuners find none. great tuners find GAINS..

reeds

X2 what gus said. I have run TD reeds as well as double stacked. TDR's are bullet proof but you sacrifice throttle response. I still find the double stacked cut back to be the best all around solution for durability and throttle response.

How do you detension reeds?

Last winter we tried the double up stock and cut reeds.. After a few rides I had a helva time getting reverse to work and pulled them to find outer edges breaking down, might loose some reaction with tdr but reliabity goes a long ways back in the mountain
