I am planning on riding Tampico and was wondering what the conditions are and if it is even worth going. Thanks in advance. PM8

Any time from today through this weekend should be great. They got a big dump last week and more last night with snow in the forecast all week. From what I've been reading it looks like the storm that's due in Thursday night and into Friday is supposed to be big and colder.

See you guys there

Sweet, the last time I was there it had 3 feet of fresh and the riding was sensational. Some people say you have to drive long distances to get to good riding areas, thats not always true.

I went this last Saturday and it was some of the best riding I'd been in all year. Above TreePhones there was a fresh 18-24". Good soft snow underneath and it looks like we just got another 6-10" today. Should be another great weekend ride. I advise getting up there early because the big lot was compeletly packed last weekend.

Hey Becker!!

We got a crew heading out on Saturday morning, you in??
Meeting at my place at about 8am. Planning on riding up the back from Rimrock to Blue Lake and over to Darland, etc.............
It's gonna be a gooder!!!!!! :D

We went Saturday, we ride the other side though....down low, there's not much left but ice but we headed up toward section 3. Snow wasn't too shabby up there...no deep powder (maybe 6-8 inches new), but good conditions to play and explore. :) However it was warm up there...by the end of the day the snow was really softening up. I'd go while ya still can! :sun:

DragonStew will probably be launching from Tampico side. The long trek to Rimrock might scuff up the new 20" blades on the fire truck! Look forward to another great ride but he must have been kidding about the lot being full........I think the later you get up there the better!!

Big Lot Parking

Last Sat. the lot was extremely packed, almost zero room at 9 am.

We are planning on going to the Super Bowl and seeing if we can drop in Saturday. I guess we will have to leave E-Burg earlier than 8:00 in order to get a spot. This will be my first ride of the season and I hope its a good one.

You take exit 36 on I-82 and head west to Costco and take a left or south to Ahtanum, then follow that about 15 mi. to the Tampico store, at the Y take a right follow that for 10 mi. then the pavement ends and your at the sno-park. Elevation is about 3,000 ft at the park and darland MT. is just under 7,000 ft.
Or you can take 40th st. south to Washington (the airport) take a right then go to 53 st. or 64 st. and take a left or south to Ahtanum then turn right.

Wow

I haven't been on a ride that good in a long time. If you go tomarrow you had better get there early, we got there at 9:00 am and there were few parking spots left. Awsome ride. Someone video taped us so expect a youtube link!!!

Snow????

Spending the weekend up at Tampico this weekend and was wondering if the area got any snow in this past storm?
