Tampico Snow Report - 2011 - part 2

Turns out I took 16 videos before the battery died:eek:

here's a couple of the better ones.

Still waiting to see the pic of me stuck in the trees, lol:eek:

Tuesday, 03/01/11 Ahtanum Quick Update

We received 2-4" of new snow near the sno-park since yesterday morning. Road conditions were decent, the grader was finally doing the North Fork Rd. this morning. The grooming contractor's tractor was headed down last night about 2030, I assumed he got done with everything up in the parking lots.

Forecast is for steady snow until tomorrow morning, then rain up to 3300' elev. (note: the main sno-park is at about 3150', my location is 2960'). A winter storm warning is in effect. The sno-park elevation may be fairly wet tomorrow, but we should add even more up high.

The Green Lake Snotel site's snow depth gauge seems kind of wacky, but it is showing an additional 1.1" of SWC since yesterday, this would roughly translate into an additional 12-13" of new snow since yesterday morning:face-icon-small-hap.

Please remember the meetings; Ski-Benders tonight (see my above posts) and Grooming council Wed. night. The Ski-Benders are actively seeking new members to support our sport!:cheer2:

Thanks, and have a great ride!

WOW WOW WOW!!!

Take tomarrow off work call in sick, or just dont show! Its worth it!

We hit the park around nineish, park was plowed and in great shape! Thanks vic! When we left, there was a total of 6 sleds on the hill we all hooked up at tree phones, thats were it really gets deep! Groomer stopped about a quarter mile west of there, now its time to ride!

The only thing your seat is for the rest of the day is to place ur gear when getting unstuck!
Two of the sleds in are group were 1000 cats, and a 800 turbo!!! The hills below eaglesnest were untouchable, cloverflats was really deep! Dident venture to far off the road here... Headed up to Darlen mtn. made it across the top, really drifted in, kinda hard to gain any kind of depth perception.
Did not even look into the big bowl, cause there is no chance in h*ll you would make it out of there. Pushed into the small bowl, literally had to stay on the gas going down hill, or you would stop! Played there for alittle while, even the spooled, and big cats could not touch the top!

ITS DEEP!!!

Fell out the north fork busting trail the whole way even down hill, on the road, was a chore at times! Did alittle boon docking around the intersection heading to blue lake, stepped of my sled, and went to my chest.... I'm 6' 5"

ITS DEEP!!!

Looking forward to hitting the grommed trail... should be around the next corner... heck no only groomed to the the first cattle gard up the north fork!!!! Im beat to death!!!

This is Montana type snow you only get to see in vidieos!!!!

CALL IN SICK!!!!!!!!!!!

Road is clear and icy this late evening, forecast has changed from rain to snow for tomorrow.

For all those driving up in the morning to hit the powpow of the year, I am the idiot heading down the hill in the opposite direction...
