not alot in snowpark today, maybe 3 inches. snow seems kind of sketchy. deep and soft in places and unexpectedly hard in others. pretty good from clover flats up
You suckers better save some pow for me saturday
Aside from being so freaking cold it was an awesome day! I feel sorry for the poor guys who show up to ride tomorrow only to find EVERYTHING torn up! We heard from another sledder that arrived later in the day that the snow park was packed completely full at 11:00 this morning.

What a fantastic day, it would have been epic, but it was just too darn cold.
Plus it didn't help matters being sick for the last week, but I'm glad I didn't miss it. Great Snow! Great Friends! Great Food! (Muffpot Buffett...lets see the pic Summ8rmk)

WAS GOOD TODAY!! The Sno-Park was packed by 10:15, even rigs in the lower one and camping spots. Snow was great, not as much as expected in the super bowl (by tomorrow, a 440 will be able to get out). Pow was deeper out towards Diamond Lake. Supposed to get more on Sunday night. In the lower areas, still way behind last year. There was more sun also west of the top than on the east side. Still a bit nippy.

We got to the snopark about 10 and it was pretty full...when we got back to the truck there was at least another 12 rigs that got there after we did. Great day though. Dropped into the little bowl about 3 and it looked like there had been 10000 sleds through there. Didn't see too many people all day but they were up there somewhere.
I also feel bad for the guys who go up tomorrow things got pretty tracked up pretty quick.

It takes a real "Pro" to get a Pro stuck.......besides it was only temporarily.....I needed a break anyways..."
I like the pics and can't wait for some vids! That pro goes really good in the snow, snodawg had to try real hard to get it stuck just to show us that it is possible

Hows the parking lot holding up?
Would a guy be able to get an RV and enclosed trailer in there? Looking at bringing the family over from the west side and the hotels are booked up solid due to basketball tournaments. Kinda worried about the ice on the road to the back of the parking lot. Would I need to chain up that last little bit?

On Friday there was about 3 inches in the snow park... the paved road was worse cause of the compact snow/ice. I towed my 4 place with just my sled in 2wd the whole way though and only slipped twice.
WHOA, we got dumped on!!!
Last night, we received around 13" of new snow (well, more like concrete, but its white)! The DNR personnel called me this morning and said they had 1.5' of new snow just 2 miles further up the road at the main sno-park
. Green Lake is showing at least 18" of new and a temp of 22F at 1100 this morning.
With the expected heavy winds, I would assume a very high avalanche hazard for the next couple of days. Please be careful!
I called the groomer/plow contractor and informed him. He said he would get it plowed by tonight.
The forecast is for more snow/rain this week with temps in the mid 30's to near 40 at the sno-park elevation. This should hopefully prolong our season, it was getting fairly light down low before this event.
The road is currently plowed, but there were 2 power lines across the road this morning. The road is plowed narrow, and the snow is very heavy. The plowing caused the formation of 3' snow boulders on the roadside; once they freeze, they will be very hard compared to the light powder we've had all year up to now. With the snow being wet, I also think we will have very icy road conditions in the mornings. Watch for oncoming traffic (ie, don't hit my wife or I in the mornings).
Ski-Bender meeting this Tuesday, 7PM @ the El Rincon. New officers will be elected and more Ahtanum/DNR funding news.
Groomer Council meeting this Wednesday 7PM @ Naches Ranger Station, back side doors.
