Tampico Snow Report 2011; part 2
Saturday, 01/15/2011
Slushmobiling report - This morning, Kid #3 and I rode the lower Jackass, lower North Fork, McClains canyon, Whites Ridge, Middle Fork to Treephones and Red Saddle to top.
All the roads are in decent shape grooming wise. Lower Middle Fork has some chop, but not to bad. Jackass still has snow cover, few icy spots on Red Saddle. Snow depth is fairly shallow up to 5000+ feet. This morning on the North Fork we were the first set of tracks. Watch for a large tree that is hanging over McClains canyon about a mile from the top, looks to be partially broken near the bottom.
Current Conditions (snopark) @ 1440 are rain, temps in low 40's. We are expecting rain in the amounts of .75" to 1.75" by Monday morning; current snow levels are at 7-8k. The 2 week extended is for some cool down. Parking lot is plowed, but very icy.
As of this time, no road problems for flooding, but the area is under a flood watch.
Sorry I couldn't give you guys better news.
