Tree Phones

A buddy and I rode near Tampico today. Parked my 2 place trailer at the same parking lot mentioned earlier (a few miles below Tree Phones). Conditions were good for Dec 6 with ice crust on top of some sugary snow with an ice base. Good coverage most everywhere but definitely better up high. We were by ourselves most of the morning and eventually saw 4 other people around 2pm. It was starting to snow pretty good when we left. It should be much better tomorrow or the day after. Have fun and be safe.

Sounds like it's going to be epic!!!!! Both of our 166's are loaded and ready to go!!!:D:D:D

Thanks for the update Brian. Wish you were going with us tomorrow but understand that you got some bigger fish to fry tomorrow.

Is there snow at the big lot (sno-park) or do we still need to go up the hill???
Have shovel & bunje will travel.......

Thanks in advance

I'm hoping to leave ML around 9. My partner might have to work but we wont know till 8:30. Other wise we're going to ride Sun.

Another pic from FRIDAY

2 of us rode friday went up middle fork then droped into all the bowls before superbowl then climbed out of superbowl and made the loop back down northfork was awesome! Have fun today!

We unloaded in the big parking lot. Whites ridge was packed with rigs but it was ice from the snowpark to whites ridge so I'm sure there where a lot of white knuckles.
Super deep, supper stucks all day!
I had my little 153 and everyone else was 162-166.
A lot of fun but a lot of stucks! We went into the lower bowls and they were untouched! There was a reason they were untouched. Lol 6ft + drifts and we were getting stuck going down hill. Lol

It was amazing how deep it really was. Brutal on the old body getting so many sleds unstuck, but well worth it. We left the snowpark at around 9 and didn't get to Darland until 3.
Summ8rmk, so what kind of mods do you have to do to make your little kitty to keep up with the big boys now. JK However, I was real happy with mods done over the summer on the Pro, no regrets especially the Camo Ex 2.5 163. Today was what that track was designed for.
I only took one video and no pictures today. Not much action in it though, cuz 4 out of 5 sleds were buried at the time (including mine).

DEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!

Deep doesn't begin to describe it... There were multiple times that 4 out of our 5 sleds were all stuck at the same time... I think we all got stuck at least 3-6 times EACH:eek: What a workout, I really need to drop a few dozen lbs, LOL. You had to be careful where you went and what you dropped in to it's no BS that could easily get stuck on flat ground!!!!! Pics and vids to come once I go through them all... I took a TON of video.:bounce:

It was great to meet idacatman2 up there, always great to put a face (and a sled) to the name!:beer;

Dec 10 Report

I was up there yesterday and the snow had definately warmed and settled. I parked in the big parking lot at 10am with 31 degrees and rode up on ice/snow but it was a mud fest and 40 degrees when I got back at 3pm. I would park in the next mini lot up towards Tree Phones next time. The riding was really good, especially above 5600 feet but extremely rutted out. I spoke with someone official (a nice guy but I forgot his name) before I started, who thought the groomer might start this weekend or the next, depending on snow. Clover Flats was great with lots of powder (1-1.5 feet deep) to enjoy. The ruts will beat you up until you hit Superbowl and then they smooth out a bit. A lot of wind over the last 2 days has created some big wind drifts up top so be careful if visibility is low. Have fun and enjoy!!

hahaha, no comment......;):beer;:cool:

That's also one of the strongest running 'short track' sleds I've seen... and the fact that the rider is a fly-weight doesn't exactly hurt you either my friend!:beer;

As a side note, I didn't realize I had my camera too far down, normally I line it up with my goggles, apparently the new Klim's sit in my helmet just a hair differently... oh well.
