Looking for advice for both her and me. Of course taking her to the best place on earth (REVY) to start over christmas but.. I want to make sure she has fun so we can go back. Looking for pointers for me as well as any advice from the ladies to pass along to her.

The sled she will be ridding is a M7 153 the only other riding she has done is on the lakes around home so is very limited.

Any adivce would be great

Thanks all

Keep her warm

All I can say is make sure she stays warm, nothing worse than riding when you are cold. Take extra gloves, hat, scarf. I like to have something to munch on on the ride, always take some kind of chocloate candy. Take your time, don't make her feel like she is slowing you down. Maybe stop and build a fire for lunch, and give her time to relax for a bit. I find that when we ride and the guys are off ahead of the girls, by the time we catch with the guys and want to take a break the guys are ready to start riding. Just remember this is suppose to be FUN so just relax and enjoy!!

Here's some advice

Patience young Daniel son.
When in doubt throttle out.
Trees less than 5 foot tall Are for traction.
Countersteering takes practice.
Deep Powder is more addictive than Cocaine.
It is going to cost way more than you think...Sled money is only worth half of real money. (hint: BC stands for Bring Cash)

My greatest advice is keep her encouraged!!!! Sounds like you have her on a good ride that is a big part of it!!! When she gets stuck or puts it on it's side keep it positive!!! Keep her laughing!!! Some girls are super agressive and others are more passive, so find her balance if she is really wanting to get out there, find a little lake or meadow and teach her some basics carving ect, let her get the feel for the sled and accomplish some of small basics that are key to riding in general!!! Like the others said make sure she is warm, because there is nothing more miserable than being cold watching you take a dozen spins up the hill!!! Find an area where you can both play, you can rip up the hill and she can shred in the trees/bottom!! Sometimes it really helps when we know nobody is watching!! I know it sounds silly but even on the trail have her follow you and mimic the moves you make, where you stand on the rails, where you put your weight what side of the sled your on at certain times, this helps get the concept down as well!!!! Good luck to you both, I hope you have a ripper chick on your hands before long!!! And yes I must agree REVY is the GREATEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!! :D

If you take her off the trail, make sure it is in a flat open area and have her make her own track rather then try and ride in yours, nothing harder to do and more tiring then following in somebodies track when you are first learning...there is a good thread on here about first time mountain rides..see if you can get her to read it...whatever you do keep it fun and warm for her.If she is cold or doesnt enjoy it she wont want to do it in the future..keep it light and fun and make her the center of attention ..not the riding....

Go on thriis trip with this thought in mind.....this trip is for HER to have fun! Your trip(s) will come. Keys are keep her warm and dry, PATIENCE and more patience. Ever watch amazing race??? Don't let your frustration spill over to her. She will be plenty frustrated already on her own. Kinda like your first trips into the mtns. If she has fun, you will be rewarded in many ways and may have a riding buddy for life. Don't screw it up cuz you wanna have fun.

Sounds like a great trip. Now first comes first, DO NOT make her climb a big hill (I did it and she rolled down the hill and the sled hit her in the head 2 times. But we are married now). Then hate to break it to you lots O trail riding. Make sure she is dressed warm and being cold is not a good option. Just because you can ride, do not take off and leave her sitting alone. Then have nice dinners every night then go from there.

you might consider taking a bit of a drive to hunters range. The first part of the range is very tame lots of meadows and small hills but you can still go further back and get to some more advanced stuff. Thats where we go when we take the whole family. Big warm cabin with couches upsatirs in case she would, I dont know like to relax while you explore...lol

x2

Always be patient with her no matter what.

Dont freek out if she gets stuck. Its not like you never, when you started ridding. If you have to make a good climb to drop into the next bowl.Double her up on yours and get a ride back to get hers and ride it up for her.No need to have her scared. They way i see it, my wife may ride 3 to 5 times a year and i hope more this year, she doesnt bi tch when i ride every weekend. The least i can do is make sure she has fun. Besides after you get down, few glasses wine hotel:rolleyes::light::D

the hunter thing is a good plan... most women are not prepared for 8 hours out in the snow... remember how you feel after a half hour in the shopping mall that's how she will be in the mountains... based on experiance you might get 3 hours out of her and then she will want o go sit by the fire... not saying that all women are like this.... i just dug a really big hole.... bring it on ladies...

As someone mentioned earlier....don't sled like you would with the guys. I take my wife out with me 12 to 15 times per year. Those days are about trail riding and meadows. If you wanna try pullin a hill, try twice and move along. She will hate sitting and watching you for a half hour while she freezes and gets bored. Take stuff to start a fire.... a must when the little lady is along. If this is something you really want to get her into I suggest bringing a little surprise of some kind along with you. Example... a cheap little bracelet or necklace and tell her it's is a little keepsake so you will always remember the first time we went sledding together.:heart::heart::heart: Just stop in the middle of no where and surprise her with it. But, don't drop it in the snow, it's a Biatch to find a bracelet in 2 ft. of powder. Good Luck!
