T3... Whooaaaah

Based on what? Handling? Sidehilling? Or just straight up hill climbing or trudging through the deep? Seems like that's a helluva lot of track to try to maneuver with...

butta::: i have recently switched from a 4 year stint with polaris pro. from stock, big bore, turbo, stage 3 kit and lastly stock.i have had 4 pros and loved them untill i rode last year on a t3.
so i snow checked a t3 163 and whoohoo best STOCK sled ever.
i still own a 2013 rmk pro that is stock.
i have had 4 years on m series starting in o6, then polaris 4 years,800 miles on a yamaha turbo280 kit no comment on that except for. i have to try something and mean give her a good go before i can judge something.
i have got 300 km so far on the t3 rode deep snow set up snow and rallyed down the trail. and its awesome handling in the deep on a technical sidehill was top notch. power well u can feel that. she does climb like a tractor but can do big pow descents like a champ.it really is a homerun. and thats coming from someone that has had em all and this season the t3 will be my wepon for at least 3500 of hard mountain riding in sicamous and pinepass area

That's good sounds like doo might have finally made a sled that will handle! I rode a 13 xm and although better than the Xp still not a pro. I have a buddy that bought a t3 163 so should be able to compare it to my 163 pro this year.

Yeah T3 Might have it this year... But next year they'll be playing catch up again for the next 4 years when Polaris drops a sub 400lb machine with more power than the etec that gets it to the snow better:face-icon-small-ton

Yah, ain't competition great?

Without it, cats would still weigh 800lbs and all the rest would have trailing arms!

Problem with the Pro coming out with a new engine? It takes 2+ years of them exploding before they get them right. Someone name the last reliable first (or second) year Poo 800 engine.
For Poos to be any lighter, they will have to use exotic materials and they cannot do that to keep the price point. They are already too fragile, as good of a mountain sled as they are.
I can sell a new Pro tunnel in 10 minutes, I have a line of people wanting them. I don't know anyone looking for a Doo tunnel.
The T3 is another refinement for the XP/XM chassis. I am very happy with mine.

I rode a 174x16x3 sled 5 years ago....not sure what the revolution is. It's been an option for quite some time if you wanted one.

Glad the people who bought them like them.....I think my 2015 Pro is a homerun, and would purchase it again over a T3 in a heartbeat. That said, if someone dropped one in my driveway....I'd happily ride anything.

Yup, buddy has been running a 174x3" etec for two years, I didn't think it was anything fantastic other than a 12 foot long headache.

Regarding the bold- No, they are looking for new front ends. Both sleds have their weak points, structurally speaking.....

So in your opinion, Polaris should NOT offer a stock 174 in the future?

Its fine if they do, options are great. I would not buy one though.

I just put all new suspension/track under my pro, i stuck with 155 length for a reason.

Hoov - True, although I have never had anyone ask me for a Doo front end either. Pro bulkheads? Yes, another 10 minute sell with a line. :) But the Pros are considerable lighter also.
Guys, the point is that this is not a several year old design 174-ed mod sled that started out as a 136, 155, whatever. This is a purpose built sled that does NOT act like it has a 174 under it. Like I posted somewhere, it turns on trail better than my 154 13 XM did, it also flat turns in low powder better. As far as laid over, the same as far as I can tell, don't have a lot of deep here to play in. I'd like to hear from guys who have ridden one that don't like it.

I just saw where this is posted. Why is it in the Polaris section? My bad, I wouldn't have posted at all if I had seen that, I am not here to poke bears. :)

I will give credit to Doo for offering it as a stock option. I think all the manufacturers need to start pushing the limits more and offering what some people are going to the aftermarket for.

I couldn't find anything bad written in the Ski Doo are by someone that had actually ridden one.

I figured the quickest way to find some "cons" was to discuss in here.

How did you find it though if you didn't realize where it is? Do you have an alert for new threads in the Pro section???

Sure why not...doesn't mean it's a better choice for everyone. Most people I've seen with 174's so far live somewhere flat - so that's kinda funny.

I was split decision between a 155 and 163....so wouldn't go 174 personally.
