T-XP carbed--- run on...WHY

Got an 08 XP motor in an 07 rev chassis. Aerocharger turbo with the normal. Power jets in op of carb inlets, large airbox etc... What causes run on and what needs to change to get rid of it? I have a sensitive bov and it referenced on carb vaccum. Need advice!!! Thanks.

i would say your running too lean and the cylinders are getting hot enough to ignite the fuel with no spark...

It has been too rich if anything for the whole time... I think it has something to do with the carbs set up...

Everything is boost referenced on the carbs.

Where exactly?

How are the carbs boost referenced to the airbox? If you take a look at Bendy's setup in the turbo classifieds, that is how mine is also. Works great.

Not sure looking at Bendy pics...

Mine is T'd together in front of the carbs by the slides and reeds. When the pressure differential changes by dropping the slides the BOV opens.

That's for the blow off valve, but the other lines are to equalize boost on top/bottom of slides. Two upper DPM lines, and then drilled and tapped through the lettering on back of carbs. A person could put a line through the caps to help also.

Mine always has run on when its rich or no load(going down the trail). Once you get it tuned, or quit watchin paint dry goin down the trail, it goes away.

Really stupid question/thought, I don't remember ever seeing a bov on a Aero?

Here's a better pic of carb reference to air box. I've got my blow off the same as everyone has mentioned. I did have to take blow off and clean once, it was sticking.

You are likely over fueling it in the midrange...if you are up too far with your main for safety, it gets rich enough in the mid to over run...it can be bad. Either drop your needles or lower your main and run a power jet setup designed to deliver fuel more on the top, less in the mid.

carbed xp

I had my 08 plumbed the same way and also had to trim the BOV spring down significantly to get it to blow off properly. This was a tial BOV. It also helps to run an 1/8" line from the carbs to the BOV as the signal will be quicker with the reduced volume.

good luck
