08 Nitro MCX turbo. Just installed Avid drivers and Challenger extreme track. After 2 rides the drivers look like this. The black marks on the drivers were lined up on installation and the little nubs on the outside of the track were cut off.
How are everone else's holding up???

I think its high time someone reinvents the entire drive system on sleds, they werent build to hold up to the power we are getting out of our sleds now they were just tweaked a little here and there tomake them work "ok". I think as power is an ever increasing thing stuff like this is only going to get worse. Sorry not trying to high jack the thread that is just what popped into mind when I looked at the pics. Sorry to see its not working out for ya.

I swear I saw a post in the last week from someone at TY4stroke.com who installed Avids and cut the inside nubs from the track who was having the exact same problem. I think it's Nikolai or MTdream I think.

I had some similar wear on one driver,, first ride this year on new drivers, turbo and track and hifax.. Most of the problem came from overheating slider which then heated the track, I had some rubber melted on some of the cogs etc..
Didnt have the scrathchers down..

With no nubs on the outside and that much power thats why your getting the weird wearing pattern. JMO

Why would you cut the nubs off the track, that will just put more stress on the one side. We have no problems with any of the ones we have done last year or this. Same tracks, same drivers, all boosted

Thanks for the comments and hope others are having better luck.

That is correct racinstation
each driver can only grab knobs internaly on the inside portion of the track.
The nubs that we are cutting off are on the outside of the track and we have been cutting every second one.

Why are you cutting the nubbs off?? My avids look MINT after 2000kms...same sled with boost....

I think the people that are cutting nubs off have a Powerclaw track. The Powerclaw drive nubs on the outside of the driver windows are located every 1.5 inches and obviously interfere with the 3" pitch Avid drivers. In this case every second nub adjacent to window is being cut off. The Camo Extreme drive nubs are spaced at 3 inches so there is nothing to cut off.

I think this might be because the track isn't fully clipped. I just put a powerclaw on my t-rx1 with avids and they are showing a little wear. I have the clips for it, so I'll see if that makes a difference.
