switching to the Ms

ok. im on the verge of buying a 07 M1000.:) Finally got rid of the old school but trusty 1M. Just wondering what inherent problems to look for....with the motor and the seld in general. For example, my 03 1M had a lean spot in the midrange rmps, something im told is a common problem. Just looking for similar serious problems with the 07 M1000s

New or used?

What you buying were it is an 07 I am assuming that it is used right?

If well taken care of should not be an issues. Check motor mounts and find out if service regular?
 
does it have the 3 or 4 post clutch??? computer updates? heat protection/venting.
 
Make sure you change the Diamond drive oil at least every year. Best to pull the cover off and make sure everything looks good internally as it don't take much in a planetary drive to cause u big bill if something goes wrong. overall the M chassis is amazing and u will love it!
 
thanks guys. Ya, its gonna b a used sled...of course i will check it over first. umm....looking at a couple sleds...some have a 3 post clutch, and some 4post. Whats the difference and which one is preferable? also, some guys r claiming up to 195 hp with SLP pipe with boondocker control box and clutching. is this realistic, or r they just grabbing numbers outta the air as they fly by? any specifics to look for in the diamond drive? any particular one problem, or just general maintainance?
