Ohhhhh SNAP
The coal mine I work at just changed my schedule... towards the end of April I will switch from 4 on, 4 off to 7 on, 7 off. No biggie but it's going to cost more to keep me entertained for 7 days! I loved my 4&4
Did anyone else get a little nauseated watching that Chris Brown crash? *shudder*
I'm hoping to get some more testing done on the 9 this weekend, maybe pull the head first and see what the wash says, and check for signs of o-ring leak.
Dan, I hear ya on the shift I got twice the riding in on a 4X4 shift as I do on my 8X6 shift. On another note, you're a serious rider/wrencher, so it might be time for you to invest in a borescope to do cylinder inspections. Much easier than pulling the cylinder head every time.
Well, as my season is ending, I figured I would update...
My Switchback needs ski rubbers, and the weird idle is still there. I have hesitated to run it, because I fear it's an air leak and I just don't want to risk squeaking a piston again.
This is all summer work now. I will pull the engine at some point and look for the suspected air leak. My injectors will get serviced / tested as well.
Let the dirt bike season begin!
Thank you sir, and I will surely update when I dive into it.
By the way, I "borrowed" your helmet cam mount idea for my bike helmet!
LOL, nice, hopefully it will work out good for ya!
I tried to swap out my helix today for the one you gave me since I was working on the sled, but I can NOT get those darn screws out I wound up breaking off my bit-tip before getting even one of them loose...
Yeah, they are a pain aren't they?!

Dan, I've had the "hanging" idle on mine since day one. It's never caused an issue (knock on wood !!). Any time I've been working mine really hard and stop for a break, the idle will stay at 2000 - 2100 rpm, then slowly creep down. It's never caused a problem on my sled, so I've never really been worried about it.
