Sway Bars?

Has anyone pulled their sway bars off and ridden with nothing? Sled seems stiff to roll over. 2008 XP 154. Any suggestions?

took mine out before it hit the snow almost 300 miles and see no reason to put it back in. I may have sacrificed a little on the trail but I didn't buy a 163 to be fast on the trail it soakes up the bumps and boondocks like no other!!!!!!! hammer down!!

Take off your sway bar!!! A mountain sled does not need a sway bar! Boondocking and carving will be easier and smoother.

I took mine out and set the front shocks at 3. This is my first sled without it so it took some getting used to on the trail.... It felt really unstable from what I am used to in corners, but after i learned that if I toss my body into the corner a lot and get my weight on the inside ski I didn't see to much of a difference.... but boondocking and powder riding it was really nice. It is pretty easy to get out and put back in so try it both ways and see how you like it. If you like it both ways get the quick disconnects

Cheers
Shawn

I tried a buddies XRS( i have the same sled) today that had the quick connects and i was blown away at how it cornered in the pow with the sway bar disconnected!!!! Im buying those for my sled for sure....the question i have is for my wifes sled..she has a 2004 summit 600 and the quick connects dont look like they would work on it as its one whole piece.....would she loose that much on the trails(for the little trail riding that we do getting to the alpine) if we took them off the sway bars all together??

Like above I was told to take mine off when I first started and had not a clue. The first trip up the road was sketchy but after that fine. In the pow and carving it is the best. Although you can carve easy on the new sleds with the sway bar you get a smoother ride and transition with it out...take it out for her and she will love it especially for lighter riders who dn't have enough body weight to lean the sled over which is the wrong way to carve. Throttle and counter steer is the right way and you can do it all day long....it is hard to pin it along roads without one in but who cares if your a little slower to the pow when you can tear it up way better when you get there. my 2 cents.
