SW forum member house fire: total loss.

He has an older brother, married, late 20's perhaps. Sorry I don't know his name, but have said "hi" to him.
Also has a younger sister, maybe 18 by now. She was in my DNR Snowmobile Safety class I taught , a few years ago.
His dad used to work at the paper mill, and when it closed he started a little carpentry/remodeling business, which they still operate.
Adam went to electrician school, and worked for a couple years in the trade, but lately he has been working with his dad.

Was a sad deal, when I stopped by there about 4pm yesteray. Fire trucks just leaving. Place still smoldering. Basically he lost everything, except the chothes he was wearing. :( His parents, GF, and friends were all standing there with tears in their eyes.

Both he and the GF were at work when the fire broke out. I havn't heard any speculation as to the cause. 'Spose the insurance adjuster will do that.

I took a couple pics of the aftermath today, I'll post here later, after I get them down loaded out of the camera.

Thanks for thinking of him. Sno Westers are great people.

He's not answering his cell right now, and I want to speak to him direct, not leave a message, regarding an temporary mailing address.
I imagine his computer was destroyed as well.

Hey Snowizard,
Adam is a good friend of mine, and I heard about the fire from him last night. I know he appreciates all the donations of food and money. His brothers name is Jesse, and his little sister is Tia. He is fortunate that no one was inside the house at the time, but sorry to hear the cat was lost in the fire.
I replied back to him about helping him out with clean up or anything, or where we should send $$ his way. The kid works hard for everything he has, doing odd jobs and helping out with his dads business.
I was wondering if we could set up some sort of fundraiser for him? Through Paypal? I know it's the holidays, so it's tough losing a home like this. Thank you Wizard for starting a topic on this, I was planning on starting one up as well...please keep us updated!:D

I have Adam on my facebook, heres some pictures of the TNT and ZR...

haha i have driven past his house before and seen the cats seat and said WTF

Sledchick,
were you at the imfamous party at "Switchbacks" place? If so, I think we've met.
As far as the Paypal thing, or thru a bank, I've never been involved with organizing such.
Since the fire was only Friday afternoon, I just have been giving out his temporary address in my posts , or PM to people.

I don't know how far to take this project. I'm just trying to help him at a difficult time.

I found the pic of Adam I have been looking for:

No I wasn't there, but I know Adam told me he met you-said you were a very nice guy! :) I'll see if I can figure out something thru the bank for him and his girlfriend...since I'll have time later this week. I have my old castle gear that I am offering to his GF..I don't know if she rides much..but figured it's something! There has been a lot of fires in that area it seems, both by my parents house on Pelican. I know he's got a lot of buddies that are helping him out with clothing I think...but $$ always helps! Haha, Ice fest, I was there that weekend too doing the drags..too bad the ice has been so crappy the last couple years!

:D I left the "nice guy" part in your quote. LOL :D
We will have excellent ice this year already. I'm on N.Long, and people have their permanent fish houses out already, and are driving to them with cars and ATV's.
Its good that we get some solid ice before we get a heavy snow pack, I hope!

First things first. I'M BACK. Thank you to all who are willing to help us with our loss. I'm sorry it took a tragedy like this to get me back. we finally just got the puter up and running since the last one was a little toasty. thank you wiz for starting this thread. and thank you all for you donations. i will keep you all updated on the status of anything that changes.

also, as far as demo goes i'm not sure what is going to happen, as of today i'm still not allowed to remove the remaining stucture because the ins. company may want to investigate it.

Update: Benefit account has been established for Adam and KatieRae.

This is the regional electric power co-op credit union handling any donations. Thanks to those who have donated thus far. This notice was published in the local newspaper today.

I haven't read through all of the replies to see what people have been donating but if the guy needs temporary housing I could put him and his wife up in one of my empty units in Little Falls.

He's welcome to stay through the holiday season at no charge.

Thanks for offering Camden, but they are staying with his GF's parents. They have enough room, I'm told.
I don't know what others have donated, but I gave them $50.
