SUV Tire suggestions

G02 is the only Toyo in that 20" size I believe in true winters. They work very well.

If you go to a smaller rim size opens up more options studded/not studded, higher load ratings, etc. If you go that road, the tire shop should be able to help you figure out what you need.

I'm definately shopping for 17" wheels! Price difference is a lot cheaper. I decided on going witht the Toyo Observes. Now I just need to figure out if to go studs or not. I've never ran studs on any of my vehicals in the past but I want the best possible traction since I'm pulling a big trailer and I don't want my trailer towing my tahoe.

I guess it is a good thing we don't get much snow down here... lol

It's a very picky comparision.

But then again, some of us drive our trucks in the mountains, in the snow and ice more than some I know and can make the comparision.

ha ha.. It's ok if you want to get defensive.. though it shows that you aren't confident in your response.

Why do construction vehicles that have "mud terrain" type tires replace them with snow tires during the winter months?

Why do plow trucks (commercial and residential) not have "mud terrain" type tires on?

Why do people with lockers and "mud terrains" state they are scary in the snow / ice?

I'm in no way a expert but I have had Mud terains before and they were a little slippery up on the mountain on the highway. My A/T were much better. This will be my first winter decicated tire so I'm hoping I'll see some good improvements.

Looks like the Toyo Observe tires I chose only come in strudless. I think if I drive very cautious I should be ok, not that I would drive crazy with studs.
