Superbowl is an amazing area but I believe it is closed to the public now.

Last year I had a group of guys in there and a guided group came in too. One of the guides got in trouble on a climb and I helped him out of the situation.

Because I helped him, he was real nice about asking (telling) us to leave the area and we did.

If Superbowl is no longer off limits to the public that would be good news!

I have also heard this information too......so any news on that would be useful. I have also heard that Moffit basin....the actual canyon that is box end (moffit creek) is off limits to as it is leased by wasatch powder birds for heli-skiing??? anyone know about that??

I haven't heard any official word that it is open. However it has been ridden a lot the last year. It's been closed at least 3 to 4 years and well patrolled until this last year. So maybe things have changed. There was no mention of it being closed when the 15 yr. old died. I think they would have made a big deal of that too.
It's a dangerous place in there. 2 lives taken within 370 days.

It's been least by Powder Birds for a long time.
Super Bowls were actually least to a Turbo sled club for testing. (Rumor has it)

buh!!

Was just up there at Yamaha today....checked out that slide.....bad deal...looks like they dug a hole out from the trees at the bottom.

Wind was cranking again and loading up stuff...saw a couple of day or 2 old naturals up there......

Snow was good but really Dense and windblown with some weak faceted snow under a couple of inch layer.....another really weak layer down about 15 inches....played it safe....

Fun morning.

The Moffit drainage is owned by the Moench family and is supposed to be marked "No Trespassing" but they would rather hassle you than spend a few bucks for signs. Its pretty much any terrain that drains west and ends up in the Weber river. We were asked to leave a few years back too. Seems odd that its not marked on any maps and that they can bar access even though its the only access ( jeep trail) into the double hill area. A few years back the property owner near the hang glider park at point of the Mtn fenced off the access road. It went to court and the judge ruled that he could NOT block the road even though it cut across his property.
