Need passport to Canada ....unless you don't stop, and jus run the gate.
They may let you in with birth cert but the states won't let you back in with jus BC, need passport

So get one....before next year

A Passport is not necessary, two of us got through and back w Enhanced ID only and we brought the kids birth certs and were never asked for them either way.

LOL hey that guy "DAN" rode with us for a bit last time I was up there. We were up by the uglies and he was blowing belts lol. I kept hoping he'd take it easy so I didnt have to tow him home! hahaha funny guy, looked and sounded like a lobster fisherman from maine. (Huge yellow rain gear bibs and STRONG accent) LOL

I heard the Forest Service is officially closing Baker to snowmobile traffic this Monday 6/10.

This isn't correct. Worked for US Customs for several years. Every adult must have a Passport or an enhanced ID which is equal to a passport. It is much cheaper to get the enhanced ID but that only works for land and sea travel and will not work for a future flight out of country and you will end up paying for both.

Simply because you were not asked for them does not mean they are not required by law. If someone follows your advice and does not have the proper paperwork it is likely to cause them significant delays either going in or coming back.
