Summit X 154 - APS line problem

Had the hood off my new Summit this weekend putting in the prefilter kit and noticed that the airbox end of the APS line was broken. Read plenty of posts on being careful with this and I thought I was pretty careful in removing it - seems like a poor design to me. Now I am wondering if I can just drill out the airbox and glue the hose into the airbox? Otherwise the airbox assembly is $120 and I'd rather not replace it. Anybody have any ideas? Leaving for togwotee in a week. Thanks!

I'd see if you can get a threaded barb Not sure what you really call them but that has threads on one end and the other end to fit the inside hose dimention. Drill out the air box in the needed postion and then use teflon or some other silicone to seal it. But not sure if you have the room,, Worth a try!!

I drilled it out yesterday (undersized for a tighter fit to the vacuum line) and it seems to run fine. Used silicone to seal it. I'm taking an extra airbox with me in case it doesn't run right at higher elevations.

I used JB weld (for those that don't know JBweld is an epoxy type product)to reattatch the broken nipple, after it hardens I'm going to redrill the center hole to size and reinforce the base with more JBweld.

I would suggest for those who will be pulling the hood occasionally to reinforce the base of the nipple. IMHO

What is this line your referring to? Is it the one that attaches to your ECM?
