Summit Throttle sticking

The last couple rides my 06 summit 800 throttle is sticking between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle. I've tried the carb heat and ISO heat, but neither one helped. I'm thinkin the cable is going bad or the slides are hanging up on a rough spot in the carbs? It doesnt seem to happen when the sleds in the shop all toasty.

Any ideers???????

Mine stuck a couple times yesterday, riding in over the windshield deep snow. Found it was freezing right at the throttle block on the bars, took the cable off the flipper and heated the end with a lighter and water started comming out. No problems the rest of the day.

Mine does that when its cold. You give the carb heaters at least a few mins riding to let them work thier magic? Usually clears up within a few mins for me. I also had a kink in my throttle cable that happened due to ice up...caused it to randomly stick WOT. Not good. Send me a PM lets get some riding in, should have my sled back soon from a blown top end.

Hey Stew...
Ya man I tried it with the carb heat on for about 1/2 the ride friday at pville. It was about -5 to 0 degrees. I took the carbs apart tonight and found some belt dust inside and on top of the slides. Not real sure how it gets there??? I cleaned it out and re-routed my throttle cable the straightest route I could. Of course its not sticking now in the shop.

I'm off for the next three weeks. When you gonna be ready to ride?
