Summit REV???

Ok heres the story. I have been out of snowmobiling for about 10 years, busy with life and riding dirtbikes. The last sled I had was a XLT RMK, and a lot has changed in that time, when i stopped 700s were big sleds(yeah its been that long). Its time to get back into sledding. I dont want to shell out a lot of cash, i might be crashing a lot. How do the REV chassis Summits compare with the newer sleds? I live an hour from Togwotee and really want to take advantage of it. thanks guys.

ahhhh...the ole XLT:face-icon-small-coo. Budgit minding a Rev will make a fine sled and you wont be left to far behind with it. You will find most any 800cc class sled in the 2006 on up sleds will doo just fine and not to mention there are some great running 600's out there as well. You will be surprised how they keep up. Best of luck and glad to have you back in the sport.

Depends what your looking to spend. For what you could get into a Rev for you might as well spend a little more or shop around and get a 08/09 M8 or M1000. I came off of a Rev that I had about 15G's into and it was a great sled, heck a stock Rev is a great sled but if your just getting back into it I think you would make leaps and bounds a lot faster on an M chassis. After I sold my Rev I got an 08 M1000 and after riding it I would not want to go back to my Rev. The Rev handled a lot better on the trail in my opinion but off the trail (where all riding is done) the M is just so much easier to maneuver and boondock. Plus after all the motor issues I had with my Rev over the years Suzuki builds a much better/more reliable motor from what I've seen. Plus deals on Cats are a dime a dozen at this point in time. Just my .02 and welcome back to the sport.

The Rev is an awesome sled. You won't regret getting it for sure. It's not gonna walk away from any of the newer sleds, but it will be 10x better than what your used to. If you can find an 06, or 07 with a 159" track, you'll be loving it in the deep WY snow.

^^^^^^
By now most if not all 07's have new motors and have been updated clutch wise. I wouldn;t hesitate to buy an 07 if it had a newer motor and updated clutches which should have all been done under warranty years ago.
