Stock Skis Suck - Gen 3 or SLP Powder Pros

i put gen 3s on mine, awesome on the trail and float so much better than stock

YOu are going to get alot of opinions. And those opinions are influenced by the skis that person chose to get.

That being said, I chose Gen 3's, for no other reason than I loved Simmons on my Old SummitX. Loved the trail handling, zero darting, and they are tough skis!

The downside is they are relatively heavy compared to some other options.

Opinions are like a%%holes...

Everyone has thier opinion, here's mine... I put a set of Powder Pros on my M1100T with the Carl's Cut, found them to steer a bit heavy in the trees (I like a light feel on my skis, especially on the nose heavy 4 stroke). I have since installed a set of Ski-Doo Pilot DS skis (had them lying around), and feel they provide sufficient floatation, decent handling, and the "light" feel I was looking for when tree riding the nose heavy sled. Downside is they don't handle great on the trail (better back off the throttle at every corner), as the light "feel" equates to front end wash out on hard pack.

I've had powder pros on several sleds and alway liked them until I put them on my 1100t, they steer very heavy. I am ditching them for some flatter skis that have less keel.

100% agreed. I personally can't stand the washout so I deal with a little heavier and not the best trail ski. My priority is low speed line holding. We ride a lot of technical stuff that isn't very forgiving with skis pushing into tree wells or single track on steep faces. I just want it to go where it's pointed. Ran them for 6 years now on my 1100 and my TApex before that. Judging from the ski threads previous to this and the people that have replied I would say the order of preference is PP and Slydogs are pretty close with a smattering of Gen 3's. Anything is better than stock and your riding style and terrain will ultimately decide what's right for you.

Been running the 7" Powder hounds for years and like the way they have held up to the abuse- I had a set of the Gen 3"s and I am not liking the weight and effort they took- they are great down the trail but the weight is a killer.. Never tried the 8" powder hounds.. but as WK said I agree the PP or the PH are a perfect fit for all around riding and handling on the 1100T
