Stock ski pads fix?

They are taller as well as a different in shape (lip on front) ... What the actual durometer is... we don't have an answer for that yet...

Would like to know if someone with an IQR (Racer) that also has a PRO RMK can take some side-by-side pics of these two snubbers

just ordered up a set of 07 rev rubbers...excited to see if these work better...I've actually got a few gopro shots of sidehilling and my ski hoop getting caught on my front bumper and a creek stuff where it actualy was pointing at me!
hope this fixes that problem

need to cut some little plastic from center of ski
and install double original pro steer dampers.

Is that the right number? When I look up the 600 iq racer pad it is 5412018. Same as the one cateye used. That other number 5414375 is used on the pro r rush, 2013,2014 switchbacks, and indys if I'm looking at the numbers right.

Please don't over think the solution to this problem.

As stated by several people in this thread, the 2007 REV Rubbers are a drop in solution that corrects the stock rubber in every way. They are a tight fit but definitely worth the effort.

After using them on my 13 Pro 163 my trail riding, button hooks, boondocking and downhill u-turns have vastly improved. The skis just work like they should.

Whenever you execute a sharp turn in a lean the new setup is just overall more precise without the "ski stuffing" that happened with the OEM setup. Soft spots and small holes no longer "fold up" the ski with ease and the tracking in the turns is spot on.

My only regret was not replacing the limp OEM setup earlier.

Rev rubbers - not the perfect solution

I did the rev rubbers fix and still have folded the skiis up doing very hard, tight turns. For me it is not the ultimate fix.
The only consolation is the rev items don't appear to have torn like the stock items do. Cost was 37 canadian clams at local dealer.
This is my experience only and by no means do I mean to discount others that have had good results.

There has been a lot of speculation that the ski has changed in someway between the IQ and PRO. I happen to have both my 2009 (which is for sale if anyone is interested in the swapmeet section) and my 2014 both in the shop today, so I thought I would pull the skis off both and compare. The pertinent stats on both sleds are as follows:

2009 700 IQ RMK 155" - 1,344 miles

2014 800 Pro RMK 155" - 198 miles

I have taken every measurement that I can think of and have found absolutely zero differences between the two skis. Oddly enough, even though the Pro uses a larger bolt and it's spindle is a larger diameter for that bolt, the actual bushing in the 2009 ski is exactly the same as the 2014. The 2014 bolt fits in the 2009 ski with exactly the same fit and finish as it does for the 2014 ski. Just to double check, I did verify that the 2014 bolt will not slide into the 2009 spindle. It is smaller.

I also compared the rubber ski snubbers between the two. In shape and size they are identical. As for the rubber itself, the new 2014's do feel slightly more pliable, but I am unsure if the 2009's have simply dried with age. A few pictures.

Spindles

In my opinion, the problems are coming from the change in spindle design. The 2009 had a much more rounded, less aggressive foot than the Pro. Sorry for the low quality pictures, camera wasn't cooperating on these pictures.

You will notice that my Pro rubbers are splitting already. I have decided to go with the Rev rubbers mentioned earlier. As has been mentioned, they are a very tight fit. One minor tweak that I made to them to relieve the pressure and hopefully help keep the bushings from deforming the holes in the skis was to cut the ramps off of the bottom of the Rev rubbers. This actually allowed the rubber to sit into the pocket better.

Thanks for the leg work Nemesis, I see the only part number difference between the IQ version and Pro version is the bushings and the bolt. I was not able to get my 13 bolt in my 08 skis, maybe yours was wore more. I will try drilling the bushings out to fit the metric 13 bolt and see if the ski tightens any or else I will be getting Rev bushings.

snosub - The bushing in my 09 skis does not appear to be worn, but I could be wrong. 2009 is when Polaris changed the front end plastic. Is it possible that they changed the bushing in the ski while they were making changes?


Also, it just occurred to me that I may not have been clear earlier. The ski bolt from the Pro fits perfectly into the bushing in the 2009 ski. The busing in the 2009 spindle has too small of an inside diameter for the Pro bolt. Just wanted to make sure I was clear on which bushing the Pro bolt fit into.
