Stock running boards / rivets

I need to do some riveting of stock running boards.

Can I use steel or aluminum?

And does grade matter?

Or do I need to buy rivets from Polaris at $1 a piece, that pretty much require a pneumatic rivet gun to install.

Just use some stainless rivets

Get the pneumatic rivet gun from harbor freight, it’s pretty good for the price

You can but its a pain. Get a pneumatic one from harbor freight
