Stock Market - pull out or stay in?

OMG... that translates BEST to what my investments have been doing to me... LOL.

and we are NOT at the bottom. Prepare to be amazed. there are going to be a lot of casualties from this mess. :(

My sentiments exactly.

I was thinking "just stay in" going with the flow like everybody is saying "a good time to be in" TRUTH is I shoulda pulled out and waited it out then got back in. I dont think I can lose much more from where it is at now so WTF???just stay in if you have not already pulled investments at this point.

Sell, Sell, Sell.

or

Ride it out.

I'd say ride it out.

You ONLY loose money if you sell lower than you buy.

Gee Scott, I never knew that! Brilliant!;)

If you have a long time until you want to retire, this is the best thing that can happen. You want very low prices if you are investing money now and reguarly.

When the economy and market returns, you will be smiling my friend.

Keep adding, dont try and time the market. You will miss all the cheap stocks.....

Oh, and don't sell lower than you buy, you will lose money......

Really the stock market is one giant ponzi scheme sorta, without new money going in it has no where to go but down.
Look at the job loses and cut backs in the economy, net mutual fund outfows are around 180 billion for 2008 and will continue for a while until things turn around Maybe 2014 or so.
Stocks are still expensive compared to forward looking earnings, once the market figures out that earnings are going to be less and will never get back to previous bubble levels we start the leg down another 40%

This is the best advice. I don't retire for another 20 years. I am dumping any extra into my retirement. Of course, I never seem to have much extra.:(

I also pulled out right below the peak, when the dow was around 13500. This has been coming for 2 year or longer. So far have actually gained a little.
Probably will get back in around the low 7's depending what the overall economy looks like and if the whole f****** thing doesn't crash.
I am also stocking up the freezer.

think of the stock market as a super super hot chick, with an std...You should pull out, but alot of people will stay in and get screwed...;)

Do not pull out. I did this back in 2001 and it took many years to get back to where I was. Fortuneatly though, after getting my a$$ kicked in 01, I have been paranoid ever since. I pulled all of my 401k out of growth back in late 2006 and stuck it in capital preservation. Been making 4.8% on it ever since. I want to get back in as soon as possible. I think we will test somewhere in the 7K range. Then it all goes back in.

If you think the market will turn (up) buy FAS..... as much as you can.
