Stock air box and deep snow

Thats exactly what I want to do. Do they get plugged up on the outside on deep days and not allow enough air in?

They get some snow in there occasionally and I do a quick swipe to clean it out when I am stopped but I have never had to stop specifically to clean them out. And... I've seen some deep days!!

I did end up doing what sledsuperman did, looks like it'll work well. Thanks for the idea! I used 3M weathstrip/gasket sealant instead of hot glue since I don't have a hot glue gun.
